Our Wednesday Youth Adventures went on another journey yesterday in the Bible. This week they met with 3 important men. Holly Goodnews was on the scene to improve her ratings :) and interview Moses, David and Matthew. When you see the kids, please ask them about the regions these three came from...I didn't realize that David was Minnesotan. 😂...and Moses....well only the kids can answer that!
They also gathered supplies from each visit to make a bird feeder. A pinecone foundation from Moses, some bonding peanut butter to bring us strength and some birdseed from Matthew to spread the news. They also painted rocks with words that help encourage them...and remind them of David and his victory over Goliath. It was a fun filled night! Next Wednesday night adventure will be May 13th. I can't wait!

The fruit of the spirit shows God's Love in Us. We learned today that we can't plant candy or fruity pebbles to grow food, we need a seed and soil. But when we are planted in our Faith, we can grow with Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self Control.

Today in Sunday School we learned the story of the Great Commission and Jesus's ascension.
The kids had ascension pancakes to help them remember the story.
The pancake represented Earth. Jesus shed his blood for all people (strawberries). He told his disciples to go all over the Earth to tell his story...so we needed some chocolate roads of course.
Then Jesus ascended in to the clouds ( whipped cream) we too should share the joy and spread the word of Jesus (rainbow sprinkles).
Hopefully the kids didn't get too much of a sugar rush 😂
I can't believe we are down to only 3 weeks left of Sunday School! I am glad we will still be meeting at least 2 times a month for Youth Adventures this Summer. We love watching the kiddos grow in their faith!!!

Tonight we had our first Wednesday Night Adventure. We had 16 friends join us to learn about some important women from the Bible. Our Guardian Angel shared some important information with us and helped guide us. We got to bake with Mary Magedeline, Martha baked for us...Mary the Mother of Jesus shared about her life, as well as Ruth and Lydia did. And Noah's wife was there too to share with us how difficult it was to be surrounded by so many people who thought her husband was crazy! Of course there was some treats and reminders to go woth each story. It was a really fun night for the kids and for all the adults that helped. A BIG Thank You to all of them. And a huge Thank You to our favorite Guardian Angel who guides us more than she will ever know!
I can't wait for the Adventure we will go on in two weeks! Hope to see you there!!!

What a fun way to end our Lenten season lessons. We had some visitors today so we reviewed the whole Easter story while making a magnet to help us remember the colors and lessons of Lent. We reviewed our Resurrection Eggs and had some extra time so we played with kinetic sand. No Sunday School for the next two weeks. Happy Easter Everyone!

We continued our Lent Journey today. Our color was Red for the blood shed for us. We learned about Jesus praying in the garden, his arrest and his crucifixion. Just like the disciples were asked to stay awake and wait...we had to wait for our baked treat to be done. We made hot cross buns today. The cross on the buns reminds us of Jesus dying on the cross âž•

Today for our Lent lesson, our color was Black...for our sins and the sins around us. Our Lesson was on the Last Supper. So we did as the disciples did so long ago and enjoyed a passover meal. We even let the Confirmation kids join us!
After we had our hands washed and blessed,
We had a celery piece dipped in Salt water and then another piece dipped in honey mustard
A bite of romaine Lettuce (bitter herbs) tortilla for unleavened bread, cinnamon applesauce, a hard boiled egg, and a piece of roasted chicken (instead of lamb) along with some white grape juice.
We were so proud of the kids for trying all the stuff...even if it wasn't all good tasting.
