Day 5: Our Quest is Complete, we found all the missing Armor of God!
After a supper of Hot Dogs and Tator Tots, we heard the story of Paul and Silas in Prison. In the Armory today we completed our Armor with the Helmet of Salvation . We did our worksheets of course! In Medieval trades we tried our hand as stain glassed artists and made suncatchers. And in Medieval Games we had to free a dragon from its icy "prison".
And the end of closing, we put on our Armor of God and Lady Sarah of Glendorado knighted each of the Knights in Training. They got their own sword and a certificate. They did such a great job! Thank You Linda for getting the kids ice cream treats for snack tonight!
I want to give a big Thank You to my new partners in all things Youth related...Beth and Sarah. You two are amazing and I love planning all this fun and learning for our kids. Thank You to Elaine and Linda for helping us plan meals and quantities and my crazy ideas...and then coming to Church for 5 days in the early afternoon to make sure there is enough food for everyone to eat. Thank You Crystal for taking on crafts. You do a great job with the kids and the crafts. You also take on any crazy craft idea I have and just go with it. Thank you to Darbi and her friends for coming to run games when you could. Alex, Megan, John and Luke...Thank you for being such wonderful role models for the Littles. You sang with them, ran with them, and were always there to lend a helping hand. Thanks Dan for cleaning up our messes each night. I appreciate that greatly. Also a Thank you to Pam. Your stayed the nights we needed you and didn't mind helping wherever you were needed...thank you for staying late to help tear down tonight. And last but not least. THANK YOU to the parents and grandparents for sharing your kids with us this week. We had about 22 kids each night...and they were wonderful kiddos. See you all next year!

Day 4 at North Castle. We Armored up with Faith today. After a supper of Pizza and grapes, Sparky helped us solve a riddle about feet and water. Our story today was about Jesus walking on the Water. We made shields in the Armory. We tried to play a keep it up game with inflatable shields...but that ended up not working to well... We also discovered that our air dry goblets from Sunday didn't hold up so we made new goblets today. Our Medieval trade for the day was baking. Thanks to Lady Elaine and Lady Linda who helped the kiddos bake their own hand pies for snack. They were delicious! I am so proud of how smart out Little Knights in Training are...they cruised through their worksheets tonight. One more day and one more final surprise awaits at North Castle!

Day 3 On our Quest for the King's Armour at North Castle was an exciting one!
Our riddle led us to a story about a young girl named Mary who had a very special Baby. Our surprise during Medieval games was a bounce house...we had some tired Knights in Training....
In Medieval Trades the kids tried their hands at block printing on dish towels. At the armory, they made another piece of armor...the very important Shoes of Peace ( or in the case of our young Knights in Training...Doodle Socks) I can't wait to see how those turned out. As another special surprise during School Times...if they listened to the story and were paying close attention...they got to skip their worksheets and have 10 extra minutes in the bounce house. They were all very good listeners and all of them knew that the story tonight is a familiar one...that we normally don't tell in 80 degree weather, but usually at Christmas Time.
Supper tonight was Taco Tuesday! And snack was homemade Rice Krispy treats...those were gone fast! We have made it past the half way point...2 days to go!

Day 2 of our Quest for the King's Armor at the North Castle began with tomato soup and grilled cheese...yum!
We solved a riddle about 5 stones...the Story of David and Goliath. We Armored Up with Justice as we did our worksheets and ran an Obstacle course. In Trades and Crafts we did weaving as we made a placement. And at the Armory tonight, we made another piece of armor...our Breastplate of Justice.
Tomorrow we need to remember to bring socks for a special surprise!

Tonight we began our Quest for the Kings Armor. After a supper of Chicken Legs and Potato Wedges....
Lady Sarah and Sparky the Dragon solved the first riddle for the week. We learned the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. The Knights in Training heard the story and did some worksheets during School Time. During their Trades and Crafts Time, they made air dry clay goblets with jewels. Their visit to the Armory, was to make their Belt of Truth. We used leather tools to make a keychain for our belt...
And during Medieval Games they had a Dragon Egg Hunt. And since we worked up a hunger horse riding everywhere...we finished the night having a snack of Dragon Eggs made from Jello. A Lot of our brave Knights in Training even tried Dragonfruit tonight!
I can't wait to see where our Quest takes us tomorrow!!!
