Godspeed; this phrase is defined as, “a statement spoken to wish good fortune, and success to others when starting on a journey or new venture”. We, the Martin family, will be embarking upon a new venture beyond these walls and beyond the confines of Priest River in the near future.
We wish to thank you all for your support, encouragement, and the opportunities to join you in ministry. We are thankful to God for allowing our life’s journey to bring us here to invest in your lives and have you all invest in ours. We thank you for welcoming us with open arms. You are our friends, you are our family, and we pray that these relationships continue wherever God may lead us. We have experienced what it truly means to be a part of the body of Christ here.
Come this Summer (most likely, July) we will be leaving Living Hope and returning to southern California to be near family. This is a decision wrought in the prayers of many, and we are stepping out in faith, believing that this is God’s will and way for us at this time. We are hopeful for God’s provision of future opportunities, though saddened that it means a parting of ways with all of you.
We know we do not walk alone, and scripture assures us that we walk alongside of One who promises so much for those He loves. Ephesians 3: 20 & 21 put it this way, “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” We wait expectantly . . .
I want to assure you all that your church board is working closely with Conference representatives that are extremely understanding and supportive of what the church here is experiencing. The board and Conference will continue to work together closely to find the right fit for Living Hope, in terms of a new Pastor. If you have any questions in that regard please don’t hesitate to speak with your delegate or other church board members – and I will do my best to help in the process as well.
And, so we say “Godspeed” to you; please keep us in your prayers as we will keep you all in ours.
Pastor Kasey Martin
