Holy Week Meditations
(This is the last of our Holy Week Meditations. I trust that you have been blessed by them and that they have helped you "walk where Jesus walked" during His days on earth before His resurrection.)

Easter Sunday
Scripture: Luke 24: 1-12

Today we celebrate the risen Savior—Jesus Christ—who got up from the grave with all power in His hands! The stone was rolled away, death was defeated, and victory belongs to Him—and to us through Him!

Reflection:
This is a day of joy! The same God who brought Jesus out of the tomb can bring you out of anything—trouble, sorrow, struggle, or pain. Just like generations before us have declared in faith through every trial, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning!” (Psalm 30:5)

No matter what you’ve been through, Easter says: You’re coming out!
No matter how dark it’s been, Easter says: Light has already won!

Scripture Focus:
“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!” — Luke 24:5–6

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for resurrection power! Fill my heart with joy that overflows. Help me to walk in victory, speak life, and trust that no grave can hold what You have promised. I celebrate You today with gladness and praise—Amen!

Take a moment today to declare: I’m walking in resurrection power, joy, and victory! 🙌🏾

Holy Saturday Meditation
Scripture: Matthew 27:62-66

Holy Saturday is a quiet, waiting day—a time between sorrow and joy. Jesus Christ lay in the tomb, and hope may have seemed lost. The disciples were grieving, confused, and unsure of what would come next.

Reflection:
This day reminds us that God is still at work, even in the silence. When prayers seem unanswered and hope feels buried, it doesn’t mean the story is over. Sometimes, the greatest miracles are happening where we cannot yet see.

Scripture Focus:
“The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5

Prayer:
Lord, in the quiet and uncertain moments of life, help me to trust You. Strengthen my faith when I cannot see what You are doing, and remind me that Your promises never fail. Amen.

Take a moment today to ask: Can I trust God, even in the waiting?

Good Friday Meditation
Scripture: John 19

On Good Friday, we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. Though He was without sin, He willingly suffered and died to bring forgiveness and restore our relationship with God. What seemed like a moment of defeat was, in truth, the greatest act of love and victory.

Reflection:
The cross shows us both the depth of our need and the greatness of God’s mercy. Jesus took our place, carrying our sins so we could receive grace. Good Friday invites us to pause, remember, and respond with gratitude and surrender.

Scripture Focus:
“But He was pierced for our transgressions… and by His wounds we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:5

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the cross. Thank You for Your love poured out for me. Help me to never take Your sacrifice for granted, and to live a life that honors all You have done. Amen.

Take a quiet moment today to reflect: What does the cross mean personally for my life?

Maundy Thursday Meditation
Scripture: John 13

On Maundy Thursday, we remember the Last Supper, when Jesus Christ shared bread and wine with His disciples and humbly washed their feet. In that moment, He gave a new commandment: “Love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 13:34)

Reflection:
Jesus showed that true greatness is found in humility and service. He loved even those who would fail Him. Maundy Thursday calls us to love others not just in words, but through sacrificial, servant-hearted actions.

Scripture Focus:
“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.” — John 13:14

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to love like You—selflessly, humbly, and without condition. Help me to serve others with a willing heart, reflecting Your grace in all I do. Amen.

Take time today to ask: How can I show Christ-like love through simple acts of service?

Holy Wednesday Meditation
Scripture: Matthew 26: 1-16

Holy Wednesday is often called “Spy Wednesday,” remembering the moment when Judas Iscariot agreed to betray Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver. It’s a sobering reminder of how easily the human heart can drift when tempted by selfish desires.

Reflection:
This day invites us to look inward. Are there areas where we are compromising our faith—choosing convenience, approval, or gain over loyalty to Christ? Betrayal doesn’t always look dramatic; sometimes it’s quiet disobedience or neglect.

Scripture Focus:
“What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him over to you?” — Matthew 26:15

Prayer:
Lord, guard my heart from anything that pulls me away from You. Give me strength to choose faithfulness over temptation and devotion over distraction. Keep me close to You in all I do. Amen.

Take a moment today to ask: Is there anything in my life that I’m valuing more than Christ?

Holy Tuesday Meditation
Scripture: Matthew 21:23-32

On Holy Tuesday, we remember how Jesus Christ continued teaching in the temple during His final days before the cross. He spoke boldly about truth, warned against hypocrisy, and shared parables about readiness and faithfulness.

Reflection:
Holy Tuesday invites us to examine our hearts. Are we living with genuine faith, or just appearances? Are we ready for Christ—not just in words, but in how we love, serve, and obey?

Scripture Focus:
“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” — Matthew 25:13

Prayer:
Lord, help me to live with sincerity and readiness. Remove anything in me that is not pleasing to You. Teach me to be faithful in the small things and wise in how I live each day. Amen.

Take a quiet moment today to reflect: If Christ returned today, would I be ready?

Holy Monday Meditation
Scripture: Mark 11:12-17

Holy Monday invites quiet reflection on what is genuine and what is only appearance. As Jesus cleared the temple and cursed the barren fig tree, He revealed a longing for hearts that truly bear fruit—lives rooted in sincerity, not just outward show.

Take a moment today to ask: Where in my life am I full of leaves but lacking fruit? Bring that honestly into prayer. Let this be a day of gentle cleansing—of intentions, habits, and distractions that crowd out what matters most.

Reflection:
In the stillness, remember: God does not seek perfection, but a willing, open heart. Even the smallest act of love, done sincerely, becomes fruitful.

Prayer:
Lord, cleanse my heart of what is empty and false. Help me to bear good fruit in love, humility, and truth. Make my life a place where You are honored—not just in words, but in all I do. Amen.

Holy Week Meditations
Holy Week is the final week of Lent in the Christian calendar, leading up to Easter Sunday. It commemorates the last days of Jesus Christ’s life, including His entry into Jerusalem, His suffering, crucifixion, and resurrection.

Each day of this week we will meditate on the movements of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sunday, Palm Sunday
Scripture: John 12:12, 13
" On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. "

Today is Palm Sunday which marks the beginning of Holy Week. On this day Jesus rode triumphantly through the streets of Jerusalem.

As Jesus Christ entered Jerusalem on a donkey, the crowds celebrated Him as King—waving palms, shouting praise, and laying down what they had before Him. Yet this same city would soon turn away.

It’s a moment that invites reflection: do we welcome Jesus only in celebration, or also in surrender?

The humility of His arrival—just as foretold in Book of Zechariah—reminds us that His kingdom is not built on power, but on peace, sacrifice, and love.

Reflection:
What can you lay down before Him today—your plans, your pride, your worries?

Prayer:
Lord, help me not only to praise You with my words, but to follow You with my life. Teach me to recognize You as King in every season, not just in moments of joy. Amen.

During this season of Advent, a season of expectation and anticipation, we lit 4 candles: The candle of Hope, the candle of Peace, the candle of Joy and the candle of Love.

Today, on this Christmas Day, we light the Christ Candle, for the Light of the World has come. On this holy day, we celebrate that God’s promise is fulfilled—that hope, peace, joy, and love have taken on flesh in Jesus Christ.

As this candle shines brightly, we remember that the darkness cannot overcome His light. Christ is God’s love made visible among us—a Savior born to bring grace, truth, and everlasting life.

May this light remind us that Christ is with us today, and every day, guiding our steps and warming our hearts.

On the previous 3 Sundays we lit the candle of Hope, remembering the hope which comes in Christ, the candle of Peace, remembering God’s promise of a peaceful world, and the candle of Joy, remembering the Spirit within us who brings joy. Today we light the fourth candle of Advent, the candle of Love.

Scripture tells us “There is no fear in love, for perfect love casts out fear.” (1 John 4:18). God created this world in love and this world will end in the love of God. God’s love pervades all aspects of this life. "For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16).

On this day, we remember God is Love.

The first Sunday of Advent we lit the candle of Hope, remembering the hope which comes in Christ, and the second Sunday of Advent we lit the candle of Peace, remembering God’s promise of a peaceful world. Today we light the third candle of Advent, the candle of Joy.

In Advent, we are in a time of waiting. Like the Israelites who wandered through the Wilderness, waiting to come into the Promised Land, we wait for the coming of the Joy of Ages. We wait for the day where we can join our voices with the angels to sing “Joy to the World, the Lord is come!” We wait for the day when everlasting joy will be on each of us.

On this day, we remember the Holy Spirit who breathes joy into our lives.
