To the girl who is getting ready to leave her twenties behind and step into a new chapter of life... show yourself some grace. You’ve been through a lot to get here. You’ve had chapters where you felt on top of the world and chapters where you were just trying to make it through the day. You’ve loved people who weren’t meant to stay, cried tears nobody knew about, questioned yourself, & had to pick yourself up more times than you can count. You’ve had plans that didn’t work out, & prayers that still haven’t been answered. But look at you. You’re still here. Thank Him for the doors He closed, even when you didn’t understand why. Thank Him for the times He protected you from things you thought you wanted. Thank Him for carrying you through the nights you cried yourself to sleep and the days you had to smile when your heart was heavy. Your twenties were never supposed to be about having everything figured out. They were about learning, growing, making mistakes, finding out who you are, and sometimes having to start over… a couple times. & maybe you didn’t become the woman you thought you would be by this age. But that doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It means your story is still being written. Let God lead you into this next season. Ask Him for wisdom, discernment, patience, & strength.
Pray for a heart that remains soft without allowing people to take advantage of it. I hope you walk into this new chapter with your head held high, your heart surrendered to God, a pumpkin spice latte in one hand & your Bible in the other.
