Back to school means stepping onto a mission field every day.

The decisions made at Fortify and the Called Conference weren't meant to stay in the room. They were meant to transform your hallways, classrooms, locker rooms, and dorms.

Don't let summer momentum fade into a passive fall routine. Look at your campus through the lens of ministry this week. Be the leader who stands firm, speaks truth, and invites others to follow Jesus.

God moved in a powerful way at as young men gathered to anchor their lives in Christ and build true biblical brotherhood. Speaker Daniel Atkins walked through key moments in 2 Samuel, reminding us that no one is meant to fight spiritual battles alone.

Session 1️⃣: Mighty Men Needed
Daniel challenged our guys to step up and surround themselves with brothers who are committed, courageous, and competent in prayer and the Word. We are in a daily spiritual battle, and isolation is the enemy's favorite trap.

Session 2️⃣: Real Without Fear
Even the strongest men face exhaustion and temptation. Spiritual victory requires vulnerability, proactive care, and brothers who will step into the mess to point each other to Jesus.

Session 3️⃣: Redemptive Accountability
Healing begins when secret sin is brought into the light. What we try to cover, God uncovers, but what we uncover before God, He covers with the blood of Jesus through gospel grace.

Fortify is over, but the journey toward lasting brotherhood is just getting started!

In the final main session of Fortify 2026, Daniel Atkins turned to 2 Samuel 12 to share how God used the prophet Nathan to lovingly confront King David. He challenged our guys on the vital necessity of biblical accountability and confessing sin to walk in freedom. Taylor Road Baptist Church

Daniel broke down three core aspects of godly accountability:

🔹 Initiated by God: God often uses the voice of a brother to speak conviction and correction into our lives.
🔹 Bold: Real love requires speaking the truth clearly rather than ignoring or rationalizing sin.
🔹 Redemptive: True accountability doesn't leave us in condemnation; it points us directly back to the forgiveness of the gospel.

In Session 2 of Fortify 2026, Daniel Atkins continued in 2 Samuel 23, unpacking the story of King David in the stronghold and the three mighty men who risked their lives to bring him water from the well of Bethlehem. Taylor Road Baptist Church

Daniel reminded the guys that even the strongest leaders experience fatigue, discouragement, and spiritual exhaustion. Experiencing victory requires step-by-step vulnerability and intentional brotherhood:

🔹 Be Real Without Fear: Building honest relationships where weakness and struggles can be shared without judgment.
🔹 Take Initiative: Moving toward a struggling brother proactively rather than waiting to be asked.
🔹 Look Beyond Inconvenience: Sacrificing personal comfort and taking risks to bring support to those in need.

Pointing to Philippians 2, Daniel showed how this selfless devotion ultimately mirrors Jesus Christ, who entered our brokenness to give us Living Water.

Exposing the enemy's tactic of isolating young men, Daniel challenged attendees to recognize that no one is meant to fight spiritual battles alone. Looking at the warriors who stood by King David, he outlined three traits every young man must seek out and embody:

🔹 Committed Men who stand by your side in adversity when everyone else flees.
🔹 Courageous Men who unashamedly anchor their convictions on the truth of God’s Word.
🔹 Competent Men who wield the sword of Scripture and fight for their brothers in prayer.

God’s design for the local church is brilliant. He didn’t build it to run on generational silos. He built it to run on generational partnerships.

The next generation of young men brings raw energy, passion, and strength to the table. But without direction, that strength can easily be wasted on the world's cultural distractions.

That is where the wisdom of older men comes in.

If Gen Z men are stepping into our churches seeking a firm foundation, the seasoned men of the church must be ready to share the wisdom they’ve spent a lifetime fighting to gain.

Your gray hair isn't a sign of being out of touch. It’s a badge of honor, and it's exactly what the next generation is searching for.

Bring your strength. Share your wisdom. Build the kingdom together.

Tag an older or younger brother in Christ whom you are running alongside this week.

This weekend, teen guys from across the state are gathering for the Fortify Conference.

They are stepping away from the daily noise and cultural distractions to focus on their faith and build real brotherhood. But lasting spiritual transformation doesn't happen just because we put on a great event. It happens when we cover these young men in prayer.

The battle for their hearts, their character, and their future is won on our knees. Please join us in praying for Fortify this weekend:
