On the one hand, the Church is not uniquely American institution. The gospel draws people from every nationality and culture and unites these diverse voices in praising the glory of God.

And yet the freedom to celebrate and share the gospel has come at great cost. So, this Memorial Day, we bow our heads in honor of those who have sacrificed so much for the sake of our American Republic, while also keeping our gaze focused on God's greater horizon and the promise of true and lasting justice to come.

Today is the National Day of Prayer.

We encourage you to pray for our nation--from its leaders to its local citizens.

We also encourage you to pray for the mission of God around the world, that the good news of forgiveness and renewal would saturate every molecule of God's creation.

And we encourage you as well to pray for the local Madison community. Pray for your neighbors, our local officials, first responders, teachers, and all the people who make up our community.

Finally, we ask that you pray for The Flock Church, that we might make an impact on our community through our work, worship, and witness.
