Our Story
St. James Lutheran church began in early 1960 when interested families of the area approached the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) to form a church. A number of part-time Pastors served the new group as they met in rented spaces until 1966 when they officially became members of the WELS. The current church building was purchased from St. John’s Lutheran Church and on December 18, 1966 the first service was held. The congregation continued to grow and in 1973 a full time Pastor accepted the Call. Our building has stood for over 100 years and has been well maintained with improvements. Over the years the church has been blessed by God in many ways to include the purchase of land to build a new church in the future. Our community of parishioners is friendly and welcoming.
