What a wonderful evening of fellowship and food! 🐟💛 A huge thank you to everyone who made the Fish Fry at the Prairie Grove Church of Christ on Sunday, May 31 an evening to remember. We are so blessed! Approximately 100 people came to the event. We enjoyed sharing great conversations over some delicious fried fish, several great side dishes, and desserts.

The Bible isn’t merely a book of rules or a record of divine anger. It is a story of a God who relentlessly pursues the very people He loves.

From Genesis to Revelation, grace is a thread that runs through every page. Even in times of judgment, mercy is never far behind. As Scripture declares, “Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more” (Romans 5:20).

At the heart of God's work is rescue, not condemnation. He sent His own Son, born of Mary, not to condemn the world, but to save it (John 3:17).

So whatever burden you’re carrying today, remember this: We are not serving a God who is searching for reasons to reject us. We are approaching the God and Father of Jesus Christ who, like the prodigal’s father, ran to meet his son while he was still a long way off (Luke 15:20).

Grace is not an exception to God’s character — it is the very heart of who He is (Ephesians 2:8–9).

What if God appeared to you tonight and said, “Ask for whatever you want”?

Young King Solomon surprised God by not asking for riches, long life, or victory over his enemies. Instead, he humbly asked for “a listening heart” — wisdom to discern good from evil and lead God’s people well.

This simple, humble request pleased the Lord greatly.

In our loud and busy world, maybe the greatest thing we can ask for is the same: a heart that truly listens to God.

Being soft and pliable clay in the hands of the Divine Potter is the very foundation of a growing relationship with God. It requires us to yield our own stubborn will to His perfect design. When we harden our hearts through pride, sin, or resistance to change, we become brittle and unusable on the wheel of life, but a soft, surrendered heart allows God's fingers to mold our character, stretch our faith, and smooth out our rough edges to make us exactly what He envisions. Without that daily pliability, we fight against our own Maker, but when we actively choose to trust His firm yet loving pressure, He takes our unremarkable lives and crafts them into intentional masterpieces fit for His use, as we are reminded in Isaiah 64:8: "But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.

New faces, same Spirit! 🙌 Loved having youth from other congregations meet with us on Sunday evening. They led our singing. A few gave devotional messages. There’s nothing like the bond of Christian fellowship with young believers. (After our time together in corporate worship, they enjoyed pizza and badminton!) Can't wait for the next one! "

The Prairie Grove church of Christ is beginning a new chapter as we welcome two men to serve in ministry.

Ron King, a longtime member of our family, will step into the role of primary preacher, ministering to the spiritual needs of the older members of our fellowship. We also welcome Ryan Burcham, his wife Kayla, and their sons Kolton and Roman. Ryan will teach classes and focus on young couples and youth.

Our prayers are with them as they serve our congregation and help us grow in faith together.

“Don’t pray when it rains if you don’t pray when the sun shines.” — Leroy “Satchel” Paige

That hits
Too often we turn to God only when life falls apart—when the diagnosis comes, the job is gone, or relationships are strained. But real faith isn’t built in the storm… it’s built in the sunshine.

Prayer isn’t a last resort—it’s a daily relationship.

“Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

“Is anyone in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing praises.” (James 5:13)

Start now. While things are good. Build the habit before the storm comes.

Who’s with me? 🙏

Law was necessary because of our sin and brokenness — it’s holy, righteous, and good, but it exposes our failure and can’t give us the power to live rightly or overcome death.
God’s love, poured out through Jesus’ death and resurrection, does what the law never could: it frees us from condemnation, marries us to a new life in Christ, and fills our hearts with the very love that fulfills every righteous demand.

We’re no longer trapped under the old “marriage” to a system that could only accuse us. Through the cross, the old has died — and we rise to bear beautiful fruit for God, empowered by grace.

The hope? You don’t have to be strong enough, good enough, or perfect enough. God’s relentless love makes real change possible, right now. Where law could only diagnose the disease, love heals, transforms, and invites you into joyful freedom as part of God’s beloved family.

It’s not “try harder under rules” — it’s “rest in His love and watch it produce what the law longed for.” That’s good news worth celebrating! ❤️

When you feel worn down by your trials, ask God to help you see them as a training ground for your faith. Bring your weariness to Him in prayer, and invite Him to build, test, and strengthen your trust in His goodness. He is actively shaping your character and anchoring your hope. (See Romans 5:3-5; James 1:2-4; 1 Peter 1:6-7.)
