I always try to take to heart good wisdom when I hear it. This quote from my pastor totally resonated with me so I thought I’d pass it along…
•
He said “Do not trust your destiny to those who have less faith than you. When you need help…go to the most faithful people you can find for Godly wisdom to encourage you in the ways of The Lord. “

I spent a lot of my life going the wrong way, following the wrong advice and trying to people please. That led to dead ends, bad decisions and lots of emotional clean up. Once I learned to really seek the Lord and listen for the guidance of the Holy Spirit - above anyone else - my whole life was transformed.

Pastor Jonathan Stells is so right! When you surround yourself with people who will advise you based on what The Word says, you will likely head the right direction or be made aware when you go the wrong way.
•
God’s correction, closed doors, unanswered prayers, and sometimes what we view as crushing disappointments, are always for your own good and because He loves you.

Don’t you love when God uses a tough lesson to teach you and draw you in to his Word? Over the past week of some deep digging and leaning in, He reminded me to keep my eye on His truth and no one else’s…even if their intentions are good. Because there is NO SUBSTITUTE for personal relationship with Jesus and hearing only from The Holy Spirit.

Fashion and beauty is one thing, but actual input on your life from an “influencer” can be dangerous. Ask yourself if they are qualified to speak about the topic and whose authority they are under to do so. Are there checks and balances for them regarding the information, opinions, “facts” they speak about? (Not knocking free speech but who partners with them on the validity of what they put out there to influence people?) Should you give them permission to make a difference in your life/thoughts/decisions?

Not saying it’s all bad but there are influencers of all kinds of things EVERYWHERE these days. All vying for your attention and usually either trying to earn a buck (nothing wrong with that) off of your attentive eyes and ears and devotion to them. After all…being an influencer is all about being popular.

All this caused me to reevaluate who I follow, and be more careful about whose opinion I am valuing and who I am giving my time to. Definitely gonna be hitting that unfollow button a bunch.

Sometimes God uses some of our worst moments so we can relate to and be there for someone else going through that same thing. 🙌🏻

Although some desires can be for good things, many desires can lead us down dangerous paths, consume us and bring negative things into our lives.

🙏🏻🙌🏻Thank you God that you can deliver us from whatever trouble we get ourselves into chasing a desire that isn’t your will for us. 🙏🏻🙌🏻

We all struggle and are sinners in need of God’s grace. In my own lessons learned I have found that approach can make all the difference. At the end of the day, all that matters is we point people to Jesus and He will do the rest.

One beautiful thing about life with Jesus is knowing how to recognize the prompt of the holt spirit. Small assignments can make huge impacts. Trust your gut. ❤️
