Sharad Navaratri Celebration
(Sharad Navaratri, Dasera, Raas Garba and Akhand Ramayan Paath)
Sunday, October 11 to Sunday, October 25
Bharatiya Hindu Temple invites you, your family, and friends to join the Sharad Navaratri Celebration and Akhand Ramayan Paath from Sunday, October 11 to Sunday, October 25.
Celebration’s Highlights:
1. Puja in Prayer Hall ($151): Sponsors can perform Puja any time, but the dedicated time for Puja is at 7:00 PM and at 8:00 PM. You can bring flowers from your home garden to offer to Mata. Bhajan-Kirtan will be in the Main Prayer Hall (upstairs). If you wish to offer bhajan-kirtan, contact the coordinator @ 614-943-1592.
2. Mahishasur Mardini Puja ($151): Mahishasur Mardini Puja will be performed in Octagonal area. Special celebrations will be performed from Shashti to Dashmi (October 16th to October 20th); during this time, sponsor can perform puja in the morning at 11 AM and evening 8 PM.
3. Alankar ($501 and up): Devotees can sponsor Alankar daily in the morning at 10 AM. They can pick Saree’s Alankar and its color. Suggested donation for this special service is $501. Pramukh Yajamans are requested to participate. Devotees will receive offered Saree next day as Mata’s blessing.
4. Raas Garba: It is organized in Sanskritic Bhavan for 200 poeple between 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM followed by Aarati. Please buy your tickets by using the Link.
5. Mata Kee Chaukee ($1101, or any $$): Saturday, October 17 from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM followed by Aarati and Mahaprasadam. Please contact the temple for sponsoring or if you need additional information.
6. Chandi Havan ($51): Chandi Havan is scheduled on Monday, October 19th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Donation by Pramukh Yajamans and Alankar Yajaman are part of this. Others are requested to donate a minimum of $51.
7. Dasera Celebration followed by Ravan Dahan ($51 and up): This program will be on Tuesday, October 20 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. Sindur Khela and Akshara Abhyasa will begin at 6 PM. Murti Visarjan will begin at 7:30 pm. Ravan Dahan will be observed at 7:45pm. Devotees are requested to car pool for this special event. Tea/Samosa/meal will be available to buy
8. Kanya Puja: Kanya Puja will be performed daily (see the signup link below). Parents can bring their daughter(s) of age of 5-8 for Kanya Puja. Only 9 Kanya and one boy (age 5-8) will be signed-up for the daily Puja;. One Kanya should sign up for only one day: Daily Sign up. On Durga Ashtami, 21 Kanya and a boy will be needed; sign up here: Ashtami Kanya Puja. Devotees can donate for Kanya Puja
9. Chunni Offering ($51): Chunni (available at the temple) can be offered daily between 6 PM to 8:15 PM (Sankalp, Archana, and Prasad). Your own Chunni ($25) can be offered to Lord Durga for Sankalp and Prasad
10. Mahaprasadam (any $$): Temple provides Maha Prasadam to guests. Your donations for Maha Prasadam will support the Anna-Daan tradition at the Temple. Any amount is welcome!
11. Falahar will be available for those who keep Vrata (fast). Devotees, interested in bringing Falahar, should use Sendha Salt (Rock salt), Ghee (not oil), and cook freshly before bringing it to the Temple. Please contact the coordinator @ 614-619-5159. Fruits and milk will be provided by the Temple.
12. Akhanda Ramayan Path ($251 or any $$): Akhand Ramayana Path will start at 3:00 pm on Saturday October 24th, 2026 and conclude at or before 3:00 pm on Sunday October 25th, 2026. Anyone can sponsor Akhand Ramayan Paath.
Sponsorships: (a) Pramukh Yajaman: $1001-5001 for 9 days (Includes Puja, Chunni, Alankar, Kanya puja, Raas Garba tickets and Prasadam) (b) Mata Kee Chowkee: $1101 (Includes Puja, Kanya Puja, 8 Raas Garba tickets (for the same day) and Prasadam); (c) Yajaman: $501 (Includes Chunni, Puja thali, Alankar, 1 kanya puja, 4 Raas Garba tickets (for the same day) and Prasadam)
