Today we continued our celebration as an Easter people! The Poughquag UMC is a small community church with a huge heart, a long history (1839!!), a loving church family who readily open their arms to visitors and new members, a growing Sunday School program, and strong connectional mission work both locally and beyond. Today our altar looked beautiful, decorated with tulips from Poughquag’s own Sunflower Hill Farm NY! Please join us for worship at 9:15 each Sunday morning!

On Easter morning, though the weather report was bleak, we were able to welcome the morning at the top of the hill in the Beekman Cemetery with a wonderful Sunrise Service, followed by brunch and fellowship. We then had our regular Easter Sunday service at 9:15, in our beautifully decorated sanctuary. Please join us for worship in the weeks to come! 🌷🙏🏻🪻🙏🏻

We started off Holy Week with a Palm Sunday Service last Sunday, and then tonight held a very moving Maundy Thursday Tenabrae Service, remembering The Passion of our Christ. We would love to have you join us on Sunday, April 5th, for one or both of our Easter Services. We will join together at the top of the hill behind the church (21 Church Street) in the Beekman Cemetery for a joyous Sunrise Service at 6:30 AM, immediately followed by a wonderful brunch in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Then we will hold our regular service at 9:15. All are welcome! Hope to see you there!

Our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 24th. Please join us at 21 Church Street in Poughquag, or at one of our other Parish churches (see schedule below) as we celebrate the birth of Jesus!

This past Sunday, the 2nd Sunday of Advent, we held our Hanging of the Greens Service, decorating our church while remembering why we use the symbols that we do during the Advent season. Our sanctuary is ready, and now we wait for the birth of our Savior. . .

Lent: A season of renewal and reflection, as we recognize the sacrifice Jesus made to show us how much God loves us and wants us to live in His joy. A season this important and a God this loving should be celebrated. Come celebrate with us! Here is our schedule for Lenten services.
