The Fruit of Faith
“But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way.”—Galatians 5:22-23 MSG
Today, we have this week’s scripture where we see that the fruit of the Spirit includes qualities like affection for others, exuberance about life, and serenity. Faithfulness, as part of this fruit, reflects a deep trust in God that shapes how we interact with the world. It's about being reliable and steadfast, mirroring God's unwavering love. When we cultivate the fruit of faith, we learn to embrace both the joys and challenges of life with a heart aligned with God's purpose. This faithfulness isn't just for our personal walk; it extends into our relationships, making us sources of encouragement and support to those around us.
Dear God, help us to embody this quality in our lives, trusting in Your goodness in every situation…Amen.
