Friends: One more item for today. Our usual Monday Morning Message from Brother Sam Scheib is way late due to the fact that Sam and his wife are parents (again!). Young Grady Scheib joined the human race this Sunday past. Sam assures that we will indeed have a Message and when I get it, you'll get it.
Please pray for Sam and his family. Thanks.

Dear Friends:
With sadness, we report to you the death of an FUMC parishioner and disciple of Jesus Christ, Mrs. Glory Graf. Glory died on Saturday,
September 5. Her Service of Death and Resurrection will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11 a.m., at SAP Funeral Home, 515 W. Market Street in Pottsville. Visitation will occur prior to the Service at 10:00 a.m. Please keep her remaining family in prayer as they grieve. Thanks.
Soli Deo Gloria!

Friends: Thank you for your well-wishes regarding your Editor's weekend escape; your hopes were well-founded as our family time was indeed a great blessing and no one was arrested!
However, it has come to your Editor's attention that the video feed this past Sunday was somewhat inconsistent. Power outages were responsible I am told but an additional remedy attempted found our vivacious camera operator (she will remain anonymous) in a cameo appearance herself onscreen! I did not see the video feed but she would not be the worst thing you could have seen!
Hope your Labor Day festivities were as good as mine.
Have a blessed week!
Soli Deo Gloria!

Friends: A postscript to the previous post. This Sunday, September 6, FUMC Lay Leader Lucy Portland will lead worship and be your guest preacher. She will also lead the Celebration of the LORD's Table. We hope you can attend this Sunday and say a prayer for Lucy as she leads. Thank you very much!

Dear Friends: Two items for you today.
First, your Editor will be disappearing for the Labor Day weekend with 2 of his daughters and their families. We're going to Wildwood and hopefully will avoid any arrests. Your Editor leaves Friday and returns with all the other unhappy souls on Monday, LORD willing.
Second, the response to a previous post regarding the Steinway piano in our Sanctuary has been overwhelming thus far. Thank you. The Trustees will take your comments and those of others into account going forward. Again, thanks for your reponse!
Soli Deo Gloria!

Dear Friends:
The Trustees of FUMC are discussing the future of the 1884 Steinway grand piano which graces our Sanctuary. Look at that year again: 1884! The old girl has seen 2 World Wars, a financial depression, the turn of 2 centuries, and countless baptisms, weddings, and funerals. She is in a difficult strait, and the Trustees are deciding what to do with/for her. So, here's the deal: We can sell her for a song as is, or we can solicit bids from Steinway or other piano professionals for a complete restoration at an enormous cost, or the third way, place the piano in the hands of local piano man Dan Sponenberg for a decent rebuild at one third the cost of a total restoration. So, please let us know how YOU feel
about this. Does she stay or does she go? Start the conversation!
Soli Deo Gloria!

Hah! Didn't I tell you? I post that I am waiting, and voila! Sam's Monday Morning Message arrives! And you really should read this one because it is extra beneficial. So, please, take a moment and go to our website, methodistwitness.com, click on MMM, and be blessed by our young friend's work and Hebrew vocabulary. ( I checked his work and he's on the money.) Would your Editor lead you astray? Never! Perish the thought!

Happy Monday to all!
While I await Sam Scheib's Monday Morning Message (it amazes your Editor that simply typing this on our FB page will elicit immediate action from points afar!). I wanted to encourage all FUMC Trustees to attend tomorrow night's (9/1, 7:00 p.m.) meeting as we have a few important decisions to make. Hopefully, we'll have a quorum and can handle our business.
Hope all is well with you! Have a blessed week!

Happy Monday, friends.
Our beautiful weather suddenly has just a tinge of coolness in the early morning. Have you noticed? A harbinger perhaps of things to come?
Speaking of things coming, Brother Sam Scheib is right on time with an excellent Monday Morning Message. Will you please check it out? It'll be worth your time. Please go to our website, methodistwitnesws.com and click on MMM. You'll be glad you did!
Have a blessed week.
