We are proud of Abigail Carter. She did a great job directing the choir yesterday. God bless her!
Over the past year or so, Abigail has been learning to direct our church choir… it has been an amazing experience attending weekend workshops with her at St. Tikhon’s, watching her direct portions of the service to grow her skills and seeing her become more comfortable at the director’s stand.
This morning, on the 5th Sunday of Lent, commemorating St Mary of Egypt, Abigail directed her first full Divine Liturgy, and she became the 3rd generation of choir directors in our family!!! We are so proud of her initiative, focus, confidence and dedication to serving in her faith. We pray that God will continue to guide her as she continues to grow in her faith and in leading the choir.
A huge thank you to our clergy and choir, as well, who have been incredibly supportive of Abigail’s journey.
For friends and family who have not attended an Orthodox Divine Liturgy, the choir is acapella (no instruments are permitted in the church) and all pitches are given through the use of a tuning fork. The choir also sings throughout the entire service, in response to the priest or deacon. If you would like to learn more, please come visit us at Holy Trinity in Pottstown!
