I’m more than certain, that the religious right will not listen to this—all of it! As with any cult, being able to, or desiring to change their minds is quite impossible. But, that is precisely who needs to listen to this; from one of the very architects of their very own mindset. He was one of those who “programmed” your worldview. Not Jesus, not the Bible, not your favorite misquoted favorite go-to verses. He, and a handful of grifters. And if you think that the religious left is not on a path that leads to this also, you’re not paying attention. They are solely responsible for fu***ng up our homeless situation here locally. Same coin, different side. Watch this with introspection.

Laying down my right to violence in the middle of the Iraq war wasn’t safe but following Jesus as The Prince of Peace freed me to love instead. My faith became a blank check to love my vulnerable neighbors. I began to wage peace boldly for those I was told to see as my enemy or who were experiencing violence. Because Love never fails. Yes, we work on our faith, we hold strong to our hope, but laying down our right to violence is how we make the greatest of these Love.
