Jesus loved to eat with all kinds of folks! He eats with his friends and with strangers-who-become-friends! He eats with the “in crowd” and the marginalized. Conversation around tables feeds our spirits as food nourishes our bodies. But we need brave spaces in which to share our lives. FBC has been working on creating safe, brave space where all are respected and loved. Join us as we share a meal and some simple stories together! Promised: good food, a warm welcome and open hearts! Do you have a third place? Your first place is home, your second place is work, and your third place is where you go to socialize and build friendships. Yet, for several reasons, many people today find themselves without a third place of their own. At a time when our nation is facing an epidemic of loneliness and communities are suffering from a loss of trust, low levels of engagement, despair, and political polarization, what if the answer to many of our problems lies in a simple idea? What if we just need to pay attention to the places where we find ourselves?

Where do stories begin? Some begin a long, long time ago (“Once upon a time..) and some begin with our own beginning (“You were born…”). Origin stories tell us of our past, help us remember who we are, where our individual lives as well as our communal lives began. Our craft group meets on the second Saturday of each month from 10am—2pm. Often there is a communal craft project to work on, such as making cards for a particular group or season, and other times crafters bring their own projects to work on in the company of others. We welcome you to bring your own lunch/snacks as we work together. Check it out this Saturday, May 9th!
