So thankful and blessed to have this group of boys and fathers to gather together, learn about Christ, and have great fellowship. Yesterday troop to-0710 had the chance to participate in the Denison youth trout derby. The boys had a blast, and the dads got some laughs in. Our dedicated troop master frank zinn even went swimming to rescue some hung up lures!

Last night was our first Court of Honor ceremony. Twice per year, the boys receive the honors they have earned through the year.

One very special part of the ceremony is when the boys transition to the Navigator/Adventurer program, and they get their standards (staffs). We talked about how the staff can represent Jesus, being our shepherd, and how he protects us and comforts us. The father of each boy comes up and prays with him as they transition to adolescence.

(Since we are new, it's the first time for some of the older boys to go through this ceremony and get their standard.)

Our boys collected coats for the homeless shelter this week!!! Great job boys!!!

Last night we learned about Godly values. We learned what values are in comparison to Godly values. We talked about honesty, respect, diligence, the Fruit of the Spirit, and obedience to the Lord. We read from Ephesians 4:25, 1 Peter 2:17, Proverbs 10:4, and Galatians 5:22-26.

Then we went outside and played!!

We really did have a great time at our second ever campout. The setting was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and there were plenty of opportunities for the boys to experience and explore.

Tonight we learned about Christian heritage. We talked about what it really means to be a Christian and some of the ways to be a Christ-follower. We talked about how Jesus is the Son of God, Word Become Flesh, our Savior, King, and Warrior (John 1:1-4, 14; John 3:16; Revelation 19:11-16). We also talked about the early church, the Great Commission, and how Christianity has grown over time.
