Moment of transparency: there are times in my life when I don't 'feel' like spending my time with the Lord or praying. Likely you too. The Bible tells us how to stay on track spiritually by doing what Hebrews 3:13 says:

"But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called 'today,' that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.”

Daily exhortation from one believer to another is the anecdote of not being hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. Powerful.

In what ways have you seen this become a reality in your life? Share your thoughts below....

Did Jesus claim to be God? See for yourself, first from the Old Testament, and then from the New:

"Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” 14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:13-14

"Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.'" John 8:58

Based on this, consider the wise words of C.S. Lewis:

“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” (Mere Christianity)

Eternal life is not tied to your religion, your morals, your goodness, or the fact that you live in the West - it's tied to a Person: Jesus.

You can't claim Heaven as your future home if you haven't bowed your heart to Jesus as Savior. Not sure if you've done that? Message me - lets talk.

Andrew brought Simon Peter to Jesus (John 1:41-42). Humanly speaking, what if he hadn't?

John the Baptist found great joy in shrinking into obscurity when Jesus came onto the scene. His only goal in life was to point people towards Him. Amazingly, believers today have been given the same privilege (2 Cor. 5:20). Today, the goal is to lift Him up higher and higher in my words, thoughts, actions, and attitudes.

John the Baptist was about one Person and one task: exalting Jesus and pointing people towards Him. He had a voice, but it was used to talk about Jesus, not him. He had opinions, but they always were opinions used to exalt Christ. He didn't care as much about who he was because he cared about who Jesus was. We have much to learn from John the Baptist.
