We are holding the entire community of Temple Israel in Michigan in our thoughts today. May they feel strength, comfort, and the support of all the communities standing with them. 💙
Our country has experienced another attack on a religious institution, this time a synagogue in Michigan. Incidents like this are deeply concerning and serve as a reminder that places of worship can be targets of violence.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Montgomery County Department of Police is continuing its increased patrols and officer visibility around religious institutions and other community gathering places across the county as we monitor the situation in the Middle East.
At this time, there are no known threats to our community. We are working closely with our local, state and federal partners to stay informed and help ensure everyone’s safety.
We encourage residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.
Call 9-1-1 for emergencies. For non-emergencies, call 301-279-8000.
