Thinking about Sunday’s message on Paul as he knew he was headed for hardship but didn’t let that stop him. For me, and I don’t believe I am alone in this, it is far easier to whine about it. To complain and/or try to get God to change my course. Paul remained steadfast in his calling because he knew that along the way there was also going to be incredible opportunities to advance the Kingdom.
Oswald Chambers devotional for today is based on Mt. 11:29 “Take my yoke on you and learn from me.” He makes some really good points, as he usually does but then finishes with this: If your life is producing only whine, instead of the wine (life of Jesus in me), then ruthlessly kick it out. It is definitely a crime for a Christian to be weak in God’s strength.
That’s quite an admonition, but one I’m grateful for. Less whine, more wine.
