🌿 SUNDAY SELAH | AUGUST 30th 🌿

This Sunday, we’re doing something a little different: we’re resting.

After a full summer of worship, ministry, serving, gathering and going full speed ahead, Pastor Bobby is inviting our POPC family to embrace a Sunday Selah, a moment to pause, rest and reflect.

There will be no in-person worship service this Sunday, August 30. Instead, we encourage you to enjoy time with your family, slow down, reflect on what God has done this summer and make room to simply breathe.

As a church, we’ve historically used fifth Sundays as an opportunity for rest—and as we prepare to enter a new season, we’re returning to that rhythm.

đź’› Rest is not wasted time.
🙏🏾 Reflection is part of the journey.
🌿 Sometimes, the most spiritual thing we can do is pause.

Enjoy your Sunday Selah, POPC family. We’ll see you refreshed, restored and ready for what’s next!

As our students, bus drivers, teachers, administrators, faculty and staff prepare to return to school, we’re covering them in prayer.

We pray for peace in every classroom, protection in every hallway, wisdom for every educator and safety over every child. May God go before them, stand beside them and keep his hand upon them throughout this school year.

Pastor preached, “It’s Clear To Me Now” — Mark 8:22–26 (NLT).

We were reminded that when we say, “It’s Clear To Me Now,” we are thanking God for the moments when what once looked blurry finally begins to make sense. The people, the process, the pain, the separation or even the unexpected methods of God can look different once you see them from the other side.

Here are a few notes from today’s message.

Pastor preached, “Keep The Change.” Acts 3:1-8 (NLT) We were reminded that the lame man was outside the Temple begging for change he could spend, but God was giving him change he could stand on. God will never summon us into something without supplying what we need to stand in it.

When we say Keep The Change, we are not talking about the coins in your pocket, we are talking
about the change in your life. It’s one thing for God to change your condition, but it’s another thing for you to refuse to go back to the mindset habits, places and patterns that belong to the condition he brought you out of!

Don't just celebrate what God changed, but live life like you've been changed. Here are a few notes from the message today.

Yesterday, Pastor preached, “Thank God, I’m Still Here.” Psalm 124 (NLT) We were reminded that our greatest testimony isn’t that life has always been easy; it’s that through everything that should have overwhelmed us, God kept us.

So when we say, “Thank God, I’m still here,” we’re not saying life never hit us. We’re declaring that it hit us, but it couldn’t have us! Don’t just celebrate that you survived, but turn your survival into service, your preservation into purpose and your testimony into a prophetic witness!

Today was filled with great fellowship, great food, great fun and even greater memories as we had the privilege of hosting and welcoming past and present families of the Brighton Community!

It was truly a beautiful sight to see generations reconnect, laugh, embrace, reminisce and celebrate the community that helped shape so many lives. Some even traveled from as far as Connecticut and Georgia just to come back home and be a part of this special day!

Today reminded us that while people may move away, there are some roots that distance can never erase. Brighton is more than a neighborhood, it’s family, history, memories and HOME. 💜
