Sunday morning we celebrated Pentecost Sunday, our Associate pastor Rev. Riggs opened up our service with a powerful prayer. Our worship team lead us as we sang and praised God together, then we had a special song sung by our pianist Sister Johnson.
She blessed our hearts as she sang "God On The Mountain". Then our pastor Bishop Paramore preached his sermon titled ""I'm Holy Ghost Filled, How About You?". He preached on Pentecost and the importance of a Christian having the Holy Ghost. It was a powerful service and a wonderful Pentecost Sunday, we thank God for blessing our congregation and church!

Wishing everyone a blessed Memorial Day from the COGOP Portsmouth Virginia church. Today let us remember the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and say a special prayer for their families. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." - John 15:13

We had a powerful and mighty move of the Holy Spirit last Sunday morning. After Sunday school several members of our congregation went to the altar to pray, then during our worship service the power of God fell powerfully and our Pastor obeyed the leading of the Holy Spirit and told our congregation "the Healer is here, come forward for your healing!". It was such a blessing to us all as we say our brothers and sisters walk forward to be anointed and prayed for. Then we had a wonderful special song sung by Rev. Howard Small, but before our pastor Bishop Paramore could begin his sermon the Holy Spirit started to move again and we had more come up for prayer. Our pastor told us "It doesn't matter if I don't have time to preach my sermon, this is what the church is for. The Holy Spirit comes first, come now and claim your healing were not done yet". Our pastor's sermon was on the "Power of Forgiveness" after the powerful worship and healing service, the sermon touched everyone's hearts. It was such an awesome and powerful service, we give God praise and thanks for the mighty blessings poured out on our congregation and church last Sunday.

Photos from our Mother's Day service last Sunday. We had a wonderful Sunday School Class, then we entered into our morning Worship Service, and we had a special song sung by Brother Gibson before the pastors message. Every mother in our congregation was given a ticket for our Mother's Day prize which was beautiful hanging baskets of flowers. Sister Ruby, Sister Maye, and Sister Paramore each won a basket of flowers. Then our pastor gave every mother in attendance a box of muffins as a gift from him and his wife. Pastor then preached on the women of the Bible, and the importance of a faithful Godly woman. We were blessed to have lots of visitors join us for our service, we hope and pray that everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Sunday morning the Holy Ghost moved powerfully throughout our church, our pastor ended his sermon early as he obeyed the guiding of the Holy Ghost and opened the altar up for anyone who needed prayer, healing, or if there was anything they needed from God. It was such a blessing as we prayed, rejoiced, and praised God together with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ. One of our members Brother Paul, stood up during our worship service to testify and praise God he had gotten a phone call last week from his young grandson named Tucker. Paul said that his grandson told him he asked Jesus into his heart and got saved, we all rejoiced together over that wonderful praise report. The blessings continued on as later during our Sunday evening service, the Holy Ghost fell on our congregation again and the altar was filled up as the congregation prayed and praised God together while the Spirit moved. We want to thank God for blessing our church and pouring out His Spirit over our congregation!
