At the Feb. 1 St. Mark’s Annual Congregational Meeting, the congregation voted to authorize the council and finance committee to discern a feasible proposal, aligned with our values and hoped-for legacy, for the sale or transfer of the St Mark’s property.
In carrying that out, the St. Mark’s council has decided to list the property with Colliers Portland. A sign announcing the building is for sale went up on June 1.
DON’T PANIC! This is the very beginning of a long process. This is much more complicated than selling a home, as we learned from St. Paul and Central Lutheran Churches.
IN THE MEANTIME, St. Mark’s will continue to church as hard as ever, gathering for Sunday worship and caring for our neighbors via the food pantry and clothes closet.
The building is for sale.
The church is still here.
