⛈️ SAFETY IN THE STORM ⛈️

Storms come.

Some we see coming.
Others arrive without warning.
Some shake our plans, our families, our faith, and sometimes, our hearts.

In this encouraging word inspired by Acts 27:13-25, Pastor Alvin Johnson, Sr. reflects on some of the storms his own family has weathered, death, grief, unexpected challenges and seasons we never would have chosen.

Yet Acts 27:13-25 reminds us that the presence of a storm does not mean the absence of God. 🙏🏾

The winds may blow.
The waves may rise.
The ship may even look like it’s breaking apart…

But God is still there.
There is SAFETY IN THE STORM. 🌊🕊️

If you’re weathering a storm of your own right now, we pray this word reminds you to hold on to God, to hope, and to the people He has placed around you.

🎉💜 40 YEARS OF LOVE + 60 YEARS OF LIFE! 💜🎉

This year Pastor Alvin went all out and created two unique songs for his wife. The celebration began August 16, 2026—a date that has held double the joy for four beautiful decades! 🥂✨

Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary to our Pastors, Alvin Sr. & Angela, AND Happy 60th Birthday to Pastor Angela! 🎂💍💜

Married on Angela’s 20th birthday, our pastors share a unique love that hasn’t simply stood the test of time, it has continued to grow, evolve, flourish and inspire.

Through 40 years of marriage, they’ve built a family, nurtured dreams, weathered hard seasons, celebrated joyful ones, served others, laughed A LOT, loved deeply, and they kept choosing one another through it all. ❤️

And this next chapter is already unfolding!

With Pastor Alvin preparing to retire next month, these two are looking forward to having more time for fun, creativity and new adventures together, including finally launching the podcast they’ve been dreaming about and working on for years! 🎙️🥰

MEET ME THERE. 💚🕊️

What if the loved ones were grieving, could speak to us from eternity?

Maybe they’d say…

“Don’t worry about me.
Don’t pray about me.
I will be alright.
You just meet me there, Saints…

I’ll be waiting up there.”

Pastors Alvin & Angela sang this old choir song while riding in the car together, on August 13th to honor their brother Rodney's memory on his 1st heavenly birthday. All while wearing the green shirts made by SaunniBee.com for his Homegoing Celebration in Dec 2025.

This song took them waaaay back.

Back to Albina Christian Life Center in the ’1980s and early ’90s, when their beloved Sister Sherron Simpson (may she rest in peace) would lead this song with POWER. And now, she too has gone on to be with the Lord. 🕊️

During Agape FFM’s summer break, we’ve been thinking about just how much grief our community has been carrying... parents, siblings, spouses, family members, dear friends…and yes, our beloved pets, too.

So today, we’re sharing a little musical medicine for the grieving heart. ❤️‍🩹

If somebody you love is grieving, share this with them.

And if you’re carrying grief yourself, tell us the name of someone you’re remembering today. We’ll hold their memory, and you, in love. 🕊️💚

We love how this sister in London loves others well by freely sharing Jesus, and her vocal gift, 🎤🎶🎁 while out in the community.

AND, we love 💚 the powerful, beautifully infectious nature of music. 🎵 This is evangelism at its finest❣️
