Father Sean Weeks' Pastor's Note on The Most Holy Trinity:

"The Catechism teaches that 'by sending his only Son and the Spirit of Love in the fullness of time, God has revealed his innermost secret: God himself is an eternal exchange of love, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and he has destined us to share in that exchange' (221). 'The three persons are one truth' (Saint Augustine). By pondering the truth of the Trinity, we also realize the full truth of ourselves: By His gift of faith, God has made his own life available to us even now. 'The complete Trinity dwells in us' (Father Marie-Michel Philipon, o.p.). God reveals the fullness of his very self to us that we 'might not perish but might have eternal life,' and that we might be received as his own." (Magnificat, May 2026, pg.450)

On this Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, I love the gospel choice for our celebration. For the purpose of meditation I offer this exercise, replace the word, “world” with “you”. John 3:16 is the most popular verse in the bible. “God so loved you that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” How does this resonate within you? This is the truth of the love of the Holy Trinity. It is the Love we are invited to live in.

The next Hallow prayer challenge, "Sacred Heart Novena" begins June 3 and continues until June 12! Join our St. Pius X Church parish page on Hallow!

Give your needs and intentions to Jesus as we pray this powerful novena to His Sacred Heart. After the novena ends, we will also make an Act of Consecration of ourselves and our loved ones to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart.

Father Sean Weeks' Pastor's Note on Pentecost Sunday:

"By the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, the Church remains in
every age vivified and sanctified by Christ's presence. The Holy Spirit prepares us with his grace to draw us to Christ. He manifests the risen Lord to us, opening our minds. He makes present the mystery of Christ. He reconciles us, bringing us into
communion with God. And he interiorly perfects our spirit, communicating to it a new dynamism so that it refrains from evil for love. When the Holy Spirit comes within us, 'it is quite natural for people who had been absorbed by the things of this world to become entirely otherworldly in outlook, and for cowards to become people of great courage'" (Saint Cyril of Alexandria). (Magnificat, May 2026, pg. 364)

I love the Feast of Pentecost. I celebrate my 22nd year as a priest on this Solemnity. The Holy Spirit has worked so powerfully in my life and ministry. It is through the Holy Spirit that the gospel is still being proclaimed throughout the world. It is the Holy Spirit that the heart of the human grows to desire a relationship with God. They move from wanting to be their own self-determining individual, to really wanting to know God in all of his magnificence.

My friends, I want to invite you to join me with the next prayer challenge on Hallow or simply with the prayer card we will be making available for the Novena of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that begins on June 3rd. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to continue making our sometimes stony hearts after the Heart of Jesus.

Father Sean Weeks' Pastor's Note on The Ascension of the Lord/Seventh Sunday of Easter:

"'The Ascension of Jesus into heaven,' Pope Francis said, 'acquaints us with this deeply consoling reality on our journey: in Christ, true God and true man, our humanity was taken to God. Christ opened the path to us. If we entrust our life to him, if we let ourselves be guided by him, we are certain to be in safe hands, in the hands of our Savior.' This is why, as Pope Benedict XVI wrote, it would be a mistake to interpret the Ascension as 'the temporary absence of Christ from the world.' Rather, 'we go to heaven to the extent that we go to Jesus Christ and enter into him.' Heaven is a person: 'Jesus himself is what we call heaven.'” (Magnificat, May 2026, pg. 179)

Here at St. Pius X we have as our battle cry, “We are the eyes, hands, and heart of the risen Jesus.” Yes, Jesus ascended into heaven. But he now sends us to continue the mission he began, to reach out to those seekers for truth. To be the ones that will bring comfort to the suffering and afflicted. We serve them by our living in communion with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We bring light to those experiencing darkness.
