Zion Early Learning Center The Mission of the Zion Early Learning Center (ZELC) is to inspire a love and excitement for learning. Zion Early Learning Center was established in 1983.

All children, regardless of race, nationality or creed, who are at least 3 years old by August 1 and toilet trained can attend. ZELC is sponsored by the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Prayers will be recited, a Bible story will be told and discussed, some art work will have a religious theme, and the Christian Christmas and Easter stories will be told. The school does not teach a specific doctr

ine. Class sessions are 2 hours per day (9am-11am) and only 2 or 3 days per week. Students age 3 by August 1, attend school on Tuesday and Thursday from 9am-11am. Students age 4 by August 1, attend school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9am-11am. Many skills are learned while attending ZELC. A portion of each day will be spent with large group activities, while other activities will be done either in small groups or as the child chooses. Opportunities are provided for discovery, role playing, creating, sharing, practicing old skills, and learning new ones. Speech and hearing assistance, in conjunction with the Jay School Corporation, can be arranged for students.
