Dear Parishioners and Friends of Holy Rosary,

I want to share some wonderful news with you. Thanks to your prayers for vocations, one of the friars who will be ordained this year has been assigned to Holy Rosary as the new parochial vicar! His name is Br. Luke Maria Lee, and he will be one of five friars who will be ordained to the priesthood at the culmination of our province assembly, Friday, June 26, 2026. The Mass of Ordination will be at St. Dominic’s Church, San Francisco, at 10:30 am that day.

Br. Luke brings an interesting background to our community; he is a former medical doctor and holds a degree in chemical engineering. He will arrive sometime in July. Please give him a warm welcome when he arrives. With his assignment, our priory will maintain a community of at least six friars, which is the required number to keep our official status as a Dominican priory. Thank you, and please continue to pray for more Dominican vocations!

With Br. Luke’s arrival, Fr. Paul will transition out of his role as parochial vicar. However, he is not leaving us. He will remain in residence at Holy Rosary, assist the parish when needed, and minister throughout the Archdiocese of Portland and beyond, conducting supply work, missions, and retreats. Please continue to keep the friars and priests in your prayers.

Join the 14th annual Sacred Liturgy Conference, hosted by the Dominican Friars of the Western Province in the Archdiocese of Portland, June 29–July 3, 2026 at Holy Rosary Parish. This year’s theme, “Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane: The Will of God in the Eucharist,” will explore the beauty of the Eucharist through lectures, sacred liturgies, sacred music, and fellowship. Speakers include nationally recognized theologians, clergy, scholars, and musicians.
