West Hills Unitarian Universalist Fellowship - WHUUF

West Hills Unitarian Universalist Fellowship - WHUUF At WHUUF we experience a vibrant and living tradition of music, worship, affirmation and transformation. Commitment to a faith of deeds, not creeds.

We are a liberal religious community that encourages you to seek your own spiritual path wherever it leads, to nurture your spirit and put your faith into action by helping to make our communities and the world a better place. If you are searching for a spiritual home that is guided not by dogma or a set creed but by an open-minded quest for truth and meaning, welcome to the West Hills Unitarian U

niversalist Fellowship (WHUUF). This fellowship is a place where people, gathering from many walks of life, find a common denominator in our respect for the dignity and worth of each individual. Unitarian Universalism is based on:

A rich 500-year history rooted in religious freedom. Religious education for a diverse and multicultural world. History of commitment to social, environmental and economic justice. Support for the rights of gay, le***an, bisexual and transgender people. Our relationships with deity range from atheism through agnosticism to a sincere belief in a higher power. We consider people more good than evil. We are bound by our seven UU principles.

7 PRINCIPLES OF UNITARIAN UNIVERSALISM:

1. The inherent worth and dignity of every person
2. Justice, equity and compassion in human relations
3. Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations.
4. A free and responsible search for truth and meaning.
5. The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large.
6. The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all.
7. Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

Rewriting the Questions We Live By
May 10, 2026 10:30am Rev. Tracy Springberry and Scott Winters

Every life is shaped by the questions we carry, often unconsciously. What if we paused to rewrite them? In this service, we’ll explore how shifting our inner and cultural questions can transform not just our thinking, but our relationships, communities, and sense of possibility.
Our Second Sunday Pop Up Choir performs today. Join them at 9am if you’d like to lift your voice with others.

In person, live streamed, and recorded.

Upcoming Service April 5, 2026: After the worst thing

The Easter story begins in pain and grief —but it does not end there. The empty tomb stands not as proof to be explained, but as a possibility to be entered: a sign that the worst thing is never the last thing. In this service, we reflect on what it means to live into that openness—where grief can give way to renewal, where endings loosen their grip, and where something new, unexpected, and life-giving may yet emerge.

Fire on the Mountain.

In these difficult times, it seems that each morning's news reports an additional crisis. Our winter newsfeeds were filled with reports of excessively aggressive immigration enforcement and the mistreatment and even killing of those who would protest.
We read, too, of a dangerously low snowpack and, as the season changes, we read predictions of more volatile weather patterns emerging in a human-altered climate. As spring arrives, a deadly, destructive, and globally disruptive war is raging. These are dark, dark times and we might be tempted to succumb to despair and yet…. And yet, together, we have options. Together we can help shape tomorrow’s story."

Enough to Act

How much attention is enough? In a 24-hour news cycle, suffering is constant and amplified. If we try to absorb it all, we shut down. If we tune out completely, we disengage. This sermon explores the spiritual discipline of “enough”: paying sufficient attention to move toward meaningful action, while guarding the life of the spirit.

Letting Go: A Fire Ceremony
Jan 4, 2026 10:30am Rev. Tracy Springberry and Kim Transier
What’s one big thing that you are ready to let go of in 2026, or that you’ve said goodbye to in 2025? And what are you ready to begin or to invite into your life? The heart of today’s service is a ceremony in which we each silently honor these changes.

In person, live streamed, and recorded.
