After nearly 16 years, the mission work of City Sanctuary is coming to an end. City Sanctuary always identified itself as “a mission that holds church services on Sabbath.” On November 25, 2023, we will hold our last official church service. Pastor Dan is stepping down for health reasons, and our unique mission outreach will be closing its doors.

We grieve the closing of City Sanctuary, and we will miss everyone in our family. We want to honor and remember the many fun times and as well as the hard work that went into presenting to Portland a hope-filled, life-altering friendship with Jesus, one person at a time. Please join us on Nov. 25 for our final Sabbath service.

While City Sanctuary's journey is coming to an end and we are excited to see where the next faith-led steps forward will lead. The story has yet to be written and we invite you to help us write the next chapters.

Why are we here?
This week Pastor Dan is considering the purpose of the church. What is the church for? Why does it exist? A few verses in Acts 5 talk about the focus of the early Christian church when it was just beginning so long ago. Check out Acts 5:12-16 for a sneak peek.

Join us this Sabbath as we resume weekly in-person worship services.

We are excited to announce that after months of online-only worship we have located a temporary space where we can meet together for study and worship every Sabbath morning!

Thanks to the Healing Hope SDA Church, we will be renting the gym at their facility while we continue to seek our own permanent home. The gym at Healing Hope is an attractive space that offers ample room for our fellowship and worship. A large parking lot is conveniently located behind the church.
