The First Congregational Church of Portland, CT

The First Congregational Church of Portland, CT An Open and Affirming Church, our worship service is held Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM. First Congregational Church joined the United Church of Christ in 1961.

First Congregational Church was founded October 25, 1721 when early settlers formed what was then known as the Third Society of Middletown, later called Chatham and now known as Portland. The present church building is the third meetinghouse and was dedicated on December 18, 1850. The original Gothic revival style has changed over the years, but still stands as a tangible living link to the past.

Riverfront Park- Kasha Breau and Beau Doherty went over 12 species and 8 plants in a walk for 12 hardy souls last Saturday on behalf of the Ministry of Engagement. Congratulations to the Brownstone Quorum volunteers for getting rid of invasives and planting native species.

Portland Riverfront Nature Walk- Kasha Breau and Beau Doherty will be leading a Nature Walk on behalf on the Ministry of Engagement as we partner with Tom Bransfield of the Brownstone Quorum from 10am to 11:15am on Aug 22nd.
