Connect and Celebrate at Sisterhood Shabbat!

Our Sisterhood Shabbat service will be held on Friday, June 12th, at 6:00 PM in Pollin Chapel. Please join us. This heartfelt annual service is led by members of our sisterhood with Rabbi Rachel Joseph and Cantor Rayna Green. Everyone is welcome to worship with us.

In addition to our lovely Shabbat service, we will thank our outgoing Sisterhood Board members for their outstanding service and install our new Sisterhood Board of Directors for 2026 - 2028.

Are you interested in being part of the Sisterhood Shabbat? If you wish to read a portion in Hebrew or English, or be a greeter, contact Sally Swire, Chair of Religious Programming at [email protected].

If you would like to participate musically, sign up to be a Sisterhood Singer! No experience needed. Under the leadership of Cantor Green, the Sisterhood Singers will perform two songs (in unison):

Shalom Aleichem, by Debbie Friedman
Listen to it here: https://bit.ly/4oeRdtR

Hal'lu Yah/Psalm 150, by Cantor Natalie Young
Listen to it here: https://bit.ly/4g2bLDB

Singers will meet with Cantor Green at 5:30 PM on Friday, June 12th, to rehearse before the service. Please get in touch with Cantor Green ([email protected]) if you would like to sing and if you have any questions about the music.

This past Saturday was our Spiritual Walk at the Hoyt Arboretum, led by Cantor Rayna Green. It was fabulous! Cantor Green did a beautiful job drawing on Jewish wisdom and melodies to deepen our connection to the natural world, to one another, and to the spirit of Shabbat. Everyone really enjoyed it and is eager to do it again. Thank you, Cantor Green!

Mandel Bread Baking with Sisterhood
Thursday, June 4, 6:30 PM
CBI, Goodman Hall

Join us for a fun session baking mandal bread. Mandel bread, or "mandelbrot," means almond bread and is a classic Jewish cookie. Karen Kaufman will be leading the baking.

We're bringing women together to bake bread and discuss topics that are important to you. It's a space where we can connect and talk about what is coming up in our lives. Whether you're facing the challenge of caring for aging parents or trying to balance family and outside work - whatever is going on in your life, it can help to talk it over with friends. And in the end, you'll wind up with a new recipe, some delicious mandel bread, and maybe even a new friend or two!

Space is limited. Please reserve your space by emailing Reilly Kwiatkovsky at [email protected]. Reilly can answer any questions you may have about this fun event.
