Online Interfaith Devotions: Portland
Sun Jun 21 2026, 10:30am - 11:30am

Most gracious Heavenly Father, we thank you for our fathers, those to whom you have entrusted the responsibility to provide loving protection of their families and guidance of their children. May our earthly fathers imitate the manly courage of all the holy fathers of the past in providing wise counsel to the children you have given to their care. Give them valiant faith in the face of confusion and conflict, hope in time of trouble and sorrow, and steadfast love for you, for their families, and for all your people throughout the world. ~Prayer for Fathers, Women for Faith and Family

Please join the Community for our Annual Juneteenth celebration. Juneteenth is the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States, when news of emancipation finally reached the last enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865. It's a time to honor freedom, resilience, and Black American history with good food, good company, and joyful community.

Juneteenth will be held on Friday June 19th, at Beaverton Baha'i Center (5355 SW Murray Blvd) from 4-8pm. There will be good music, trivia game, arts, and games. We will serve hot dogs, burgers and veggie patties. Please bring a potluck side dish or dessert to share, and your lawn chairs. Invite friends. All are welcome.
Many hands make for light work. To sign up for food or if you would like to volunteer during the event, sign up here:

International Day for Countering Hate Speech

Thank you to and Ambassador Omar Hilale for co-organizing today’s high-level event to mark the International Day for Countering Hate Speech. “Hate speech does not emerge in a vacuum,” Amb Hilale said in his remarks. “It thrives where ignorance replaces understanding and where prejudice replaces dialogue.” The Bahá’í International Community has decades of experience in addressing religious prejudice spread against the community in , where the Islamic Republic has made hate speech part of its policy of systematic persecution of the Bahá’ís for almost 50 years. But Iranians have been learning, as the Ambassador said today, that “Coexistence is not an abstraction. It is taught, practiced, and modeled, in schools, in religious institutions, and in the everyday choices of communities to know one another rather than to fear one another.” In other words: countering hate speech is something we must all do every day—not just once a year.

Exploring how to sustain hope:

The event was sold out, and we all agreed: HOPE is a key driver of the progress we seek... and now ... how can we SUSTAIN HOPE?

It (once again) sold-out, it was probably the best annual learning experience that ebbf - ethical business building the future has ever offered and it was themed: "REORIENTING TOWARDS HOPE".

The levels of energy, insights and collaboration were made possible by understanding what creates hope, and how we can harness it.

The task ahead is not easy, that is why ebbf is now offering event participants and all those who could not make it, the opportunity for an open live interaction with some of the protagonists of the recent event we enjoyed in beautifuly Greece.

These are the dates of the new SUSTAINING HOPE series, to ensure we continue to explore, to co-create and to form part of one of the most service-driven and active communities FOR the world!
