The Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) has announced that applications for its 2026 Fall Community Grants Cycle will be accepted from May 26 through June 23, 2026.

This funding opportunity may be of interest to local churches, nonprofit ministries, and community organizations engaged in outreach and service ministries. The Fall Cycle will prioritize:

--New or expanding programs and projects
--Capacity-building efforts
--Small capital projects under $500,000

OCF has made application resources available online, including funding priorities, application questions, review criteria, and sample responses to help applicants prepare competitive proposals

The Community Grants Program aims to provide equitable access to funding for organizations serving communities' most pressing needs throughout Oregon.

Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appointment Rev. Dr. Allen Buck as the full-time director of the Greater Northwest Area's Circle of Indigenous Ministries, effective July 1, 2026.
Rev. Buck, an ordained elder in the Oregon-Idaho Conference, has served as the part-time director of the Circle of Indigenous Ministries since 2021 while also pastoring Great Spirit UMC in Portland, Oregon, since 2017.

Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appointment Maryl Smith as the pastor of Great Spirit UMC in Portland, Oregon, effective July 1, 2026.
Smith is part of the Great Spirit UMC community and is pursuing clergy status as a licensed local pastor in the Oregon-Idaho Conference. Smith will serve this appointment half-time.
