The Healing of a Blind Man at Bethsaida (Mark 8:22-26)

This miracle served as an illustration for the disciples of temporary spiritual blindness:
I. The man was blind (22)
• Spiritually speaking, the disciples had once been like that blind man.

II. The man was partially healed (23-24)
• The disciples’ understanding of spiritual truth had once been hopelessly blurred by centuries of rabbinic tradition and religious hypocrisy.

III. The man was healed completely (25-26)
• Jesus’ saving touch removed the veil of darkness that once shrouded the disciples unbelieving hearts.

Therefore, our goal in embarking on studying these lofty doctrines is not to gain some sort of spiritual edge in an argument, but rather that the believer may have a greater admiration for God that elicits higher praise, reverence, and trust in who the Bible reveals God to be.
