Awesome stuff!!! Praise God
It often goes against every fiber of our being to totally surrender ourselves over to God and His will for our lives. We hunger for this false sense of control that we feel empowers us and keeps us safe, when in actuality, it weakens us and can be damaging. We are consumed with the idol of Comfortability, and because of it, we’re susceptible to spiritual stagnation and a withered soul. Our lives on this earth are very brief. “What is your life? For you are a v***r that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:14).
Let His Spirit produce a type of joy and peace within you that is impossible to manufacture by your own efforts (Galatians 5:22-23). Surrender so His love can flow through you to love the unlovely. Surrender so His kindness and gentleness can bring warmth to the weary. Surrender so you can have self-control and patience that brings peace to unstable situations. Surrender so when people encounter you, they encounter Jesus because of His life radiating through you.
You were meant to emanate that Light, but this can’t happen if you’re filled with only Yourself. Control and Comfort may bring temporary relief, but it’s not worth what it’s traded for. As a Christian, the decision to let God have your life involves daily surrender: read your Bible, thank Him, praise Him and spend time with Him.
