St. John’s Anglican Church cordially invites you to our annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 7 from 9 AM to 1 PM in Brandon Hall at the church, 308 N. D St. in Porterville. This lovely original oil painting by Idaho resident and former Porterville resident Katy Yarbro, will be one of the several Raffle items that day. There will be a silent auction of some great prizes, a delicious baked goods sale, our famous Farmer’s Market with nuts and dried fruits,and many Christmas white elephant delights. Saint John’s Anglican Parish at 308 North D Street in Porterville cordially invites you to our annual Christmas Bazaar! The event will be presented on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall at 308 North D Street on the corner of Thurman in Porterville. Great Christmas goodies for family and friends, delicious baked goods and produce in our Farmers Market! Our Men’s Club will offer our traditional BBQ hamburger luncheon with all the fixin’s! Our drive-thru communion service moves to 9:00 a.m. this Sunday, May 24, 2020. Come receive our blessing and the communion elements at the kitchen door in the alleyway behind the church. St. John’s is located at 308 North D Street between Thurman and Cleveland streets in Downtown Porterville. You are welcome to come and be blessed.

Greetings friends! On Sunday, April 26 between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., St. John’s will offer a drive-thru Holy Communion in the alleyway in the rear of the church. Communion elements will be hygienically prepared, blessed, and served following safety guidelines and protocols. Please enter the alleyway from Cleveland Avenue between D and Hockett Streets. All are welcome, regardless of your church affiliation. For further information, please phone the church office at 559-784-6080 (limited office hours). Come and be refreshed!

Beginning today, Saint Patrick's Day, and continuing for the next few weeks while we are in this state of national distress I will be offering each weekday Midday Prayer via Facebook Live. I invite you to use your BCP or an online copy to join along with me in prayer during this service. We may be separated by distance, but it's important for the church to find ways to still come together in prayer.

Dear Friends, Please make plans to join us at St. John's on Sunday, February 25 at 3:00 p.m. for a wonderful concert by "Synergy", a string quartet comprised of Alex Navarro and Josh Estrade - violins; Melissa McGlumphy - viola; and Paul Young - cello. The concert will include selections by Johann Sebastian Bach and Felix Mendelssohn. Dear Friends -- Saint John's has lost a dear and devoted member in the passing of Blanche Joos. Blanche and her family were long-time members. While she has not been with us for several years, we are still saddened by the loss. Please come and help us remember her on Saturday, February 10 at 11:00 a.m. for a Memorial Service in her honor. Her family will be with us and there will be a chance to meet them in Brandon Hall following the service.

Please join the Sierra Vocal Arts Ensemble on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 344 East Morton in Porterville. Highlight of the concert will be "Birthday Madrigals" by noted British composer John Rutter. The Madrigals, composed in 1995, are jazz settings of traditional English Madrigals in tribute to noted jazz pianist, George Shearing. Tickets for the concert are $25 for General; $20 for seniors and students.
