Sometimes, when we don’t know what to do next, we instinctively look to the people we trust for help.
Recently, one of our boys faced a challenging climbing wall and found himself stuck. He looked to his houseparents, who encouraged him from below and reminded him that he was safe. Because they had built a relationship of trust through everyday moments of care, laughter, correction, and love, he knew exactly where to turn.
For many of the children we serve, that hasn’t always been true. They have come to us having experienced seasons when they didn’t have a safe person or a safe place to turn when they were scared or hurting. At NMBCH, we want to change that.
Every day, our staff works to create an environment where children know they are safe, valued, and deeply loved. As trust grows, they begin to discover what it means to have people they can depend on.
And this reminds us of an even greater truth. Just as this young boy looked to those he trusted, we can lift our eyes to the One who never fails us.
“From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord.” — Psalm 121:1–2
In every season, our safety is found in Him.
