Church Doctrine – We believe the doctrine of Christ as delivered by the prophets and the apostles in the Holy Scriptures, namely the sixty-six books of the Bible, as we are taught of the Holy Ghost in accordance with the Scriptures.
Church Constitution – We are all baptized believers in Jesus Christ who are born of the Spirit by the operation of God in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus. We have no hierarchy save what the Lord gave us in the Scriptures which is God, Christ, man, woman, children.
Church Offices – We only recognize two offices in the Scripture concerning the church, and that is of bishop and deacon. We ordain one bishop per city, and the bishop ordains deacons in that city, every elder, or the head of each household, who meet the qualifications set forth by the Lord through his Apostle Paul. Bishops are responsible to ensure adherence to the commandment for all brethren to work in the world, providing for their families and the poor with their own hands. He and the deacons ensure that no elder takes the position of Christ within the body, subverting men’s houses. Every head of a house (husband) is a pastor, and we esteem every man as a brother, not as a superior or subordinate. Holding the office of bishop entitles a pastor to no special authority over another, except to rebuke an elder who will not work, and teaches things they ought not for filthy lucre. We do not make money from the Gospel, but we make the Gospel without charge. We do not ask for any donations for this ministry, for it is Christ that ministers in our midst, and your money is not needed here, for we all work to provide for our own and those who have need. It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Our Practice – We take no thought for the morrow according to Jesus’ commandment, and have no designated place of worship or program, for we worship our Father in spirit and in truth according to his commandment. We make no plans, but we follow the Spirit’s leading today and attend to God’s work today. We walk together in the doctrine of Christ, with Jesus in our midst, who is pastoring us by his Spirit by which we are lead. We emphasize the regular meetings and visitations of two or three in Jesus’ Name, knowing that Jesus is there with them. However, we may all meet from time to time as the Spirit leads, in whatever location and time as the Lord chooses. At minimum, we do ensure we are walking with another brother in agreement, exhorting and encouraging one another daily, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together in Christ and his kingdom. We focus particularly on seeking opportunity to do good to the household of faith, and all men, with the visitation of widows and fatherless in their affliction as a particular focus.
As the Lord leads us in our groups of two or three, we are free to follow the Spirit’s lead without the control of clergymen (or professional Christians). The office of bishop is not to control, but to oversee and guard against charging men for the Gospel in particular, and men leading disciples after themselves instead of following Christ together as equals. As for peculiar doctrines and understandings among us, we trust the Holy Ghost to show us all things, particularly in our gatherings of two or three. We are charitable with one another, allowing for the free exercise of faith, presenting our true understanding without fear of condemnation, but putting forth a doctrine for sincere examination of our understanding against another’s. We do not esteem any understanding of man as the final matter on what is true, but the Spirit with us is truth and bears witness that we are the children of God. For any matter of offence between us, we follow the procedure Jesus gave us in Matthew 18. We strive and teach others to keep all the commandments of Jesus in the New Testament because we love him, for he saved us from our sins, and does save, and will save. The rest of the details of what we practice may be found in the New Testament Scripture, but we emphasize what makes us different from the churches of the world today. We do not deny the power of godliness and withdraw from all that only have a form of it, but deny its power, transgressing the commandments of our Lord and Savior. We abhor powerless forms of godliness, but we believe and know the power of God to save us from our sins. Jesus is alive today, in us, cleansing us from our sin and making all things new.
Our Hope – This work has an end. The common vision is the fulfillment of the New Covenant, when there will be no more teachers, but all shall be taught of the Lord himself and this church has filled the whole earth. One day, this world will be saved from their idols, and will worship the Lord, whether at home or at work, in spirit and in truth. We recognize that most brethren are in error in one way or another at this present time, but we seek to turn them from the error of their way so that they may be called the greatest and not the least in the kingdom of heaven. We invite all who hear, to come and be baptized, or to begin to baptize if you are baptized already and follow us in this vision. Join us in this manner of conversation in Christ before God, walk with your brother in the light as Jesus is in the light, and come out of your idolatry, come out of Babylon, and come to the river of life, the word that proceeds from the Throne in the New Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven and never thirst again.
