Rodney & Susan Henderson

Rodney & Susan Henderson Rodney & Susan are retired ABWE missionaries serving the local church. After 15 years of marriage, Rodney & Susan felt God calling them to serve in missions.

They applied to ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism) and were appointed in 2004 to serve as missionaries to Portugal. The Hendersons served in Portugal from 2009-2018, then in Colorado from 2019-2023, then in several local churches in Michigan during the years of 2023 to the present. Since their retirement in early 2025, Rodney & Susan continue to serve God at their local church.

Our Story

After 15 years of marriage, Rodney & Susan felt God calling them to serve in missions. They applied to ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism) and were appointed in 2004 to serve as missionaries to Portugal. After 5 years of pre-field ministry, Rodney & Susan moved to Portugal in 2009. During their years in Portugal, Rodney served as the Administrator for the Lisbon Training Center as well as serving with the Project Office for ABWE. Susan assisted her husband and also served churches in the areas of music and outreach. Both Rodney & Susan attended and served in two local churches and a third church plant during their years in Portugal. In 2019, God moved Rodney & Susan to minister in a church near Denver, Colorado - South Holly Baptist Church in Centennial - where Rod is now serving as an associate pastor focusing on outreach and evangelism. Susan is assisting her husband in his duties as well as serving in the areas of music and mentoring women. They are now integrating with the church members and the ministries of the church and are anxious to serve the Centennial community.
