Today our Kids Outdoor Zone spent a wonderful day fishing at Countryside Park in Portage, Indiana. We had eight boys with us, and many caught fish—along with big smiles and lasting memories.
Being outdoors, learning together, and building healthy relationships is at the heart of what we do. We’re so grateful for God’s provision, the volunteers who serve, and the chance to make a positive impact on these young lives.

🌲🧭 Kids Outdoor Zone – This Saturday! 🧭🌲

This weekend at Kids Outdoor Zone, the boys will be learning an important outdoor skill: Land & Compass Navigation 🧭
Have you ever been lost—in the woods, a park, or even a big parking lot? This hands on lesson will teach boys:

✅ How to know which direction is north
✅ How a compass works
✅ Why awareness of surroundings matters
✅ Why we should never rely only on phones or GPS
✅ Basic map and navigation understanding

We’ll connect outdoor skills with life lessons, helping boys learn preparation, responsibility, and confidence in God’s world. 🌎✝️

✔️ No electronics required—just a willingness to learn

🎯 KOZ Outing Success! 🎯
Saturday, March 14, 2026, the KOZ outing was a smash! The kids had an absolute blast at Combat Tactical Laser in Hobart, Indiana. Lots of laughs, teamwork, and great memories made.
Another awesome KOZ outing for the boys! 💪🔥

This weekend is KOZ weekend! We are planning to attend Team Combat Tactical Laser Tag in Hobart. See the link below for more information. Please join us! We will meet at the church at 8:00 am. If you know any boys who would like to join, please bring them along. Please be advised that their parent or guardian will need to sign a waiver available on the website. Hope to see you tomorrow!

Team Combat is a live action video-game where teams compete through a series of interactive missions. The competition is stiff and the fun is limitless.

**🔥 Men of God – It’s Time to Stand Up! 🔥**

All men of the **City of Refuge Christian Church** (and regular attendees) are invited to get involved in our **Men’s Ministry**!

We gather **every Saturday, 8:30 AM–12 PM** for:

🤝 Fellowship
🛠️ Serving through church maintenance

I recognize that communication hasn’t always been consistent, and I take responsibility for that. To improve this, I have continued to update the roster so everyone can stay updated on activities and needs.

Hike it Out! Our hiking adventure took a quick detour today as the hiking trail led us to the Portage Harbor and beach. What an awesome time we had this Saturday as the boys got to witness fishermen pulling in huge steelheads off the pier. Life can be hard. Some days it seems like just getting out of bed is so hard. But it is at just those moments, those times you must "do hard things." You had to push through something hard, you saw lots of cool stuff, you had fun. That is how your walk with Christ needs to be. You need to think about it, be mindful, spend time thinking
about Him and how you are spending time with Him. He wants to help you with the hard things, the things that hurt and confuse you, but you must do your part too. Walk with Him, talk to Him, listen to Him. " Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise." Ephesians 5:15
