Blue Christmas (also called the Longest Night) in the Western Christian tradition is a day in the Advent season marking the longest night of the year. On this day, some churches in Western Christian denominations hold a church service that honours people that have lost loved ones and are experiencing grief.

The UMCPW will open our doors for prayer and meditation on Monday 12/23/24, from 3pm-8pm for all who are seeking this support.

Join us Sunday September 8th for “Sundae Sunday” as we welcome everyone home and welcome the children back to school. Bring your backpacks (young and old) as we have our annual blessing of the backpacks to send everyone off to their new school year! We will celebrate with ice cream sundaes after church on the lawn!! All are welcome!

Join us for worship on Sunday as Reverend Dr Jessica Anschutz leads us in our Lenten journey on this, the second Sunday of Lent. Worship will be followed by a luncheon with Dr Anschutz leading a visioning session to help us plan our path forward in ministry. All are welcome, services begin at 10am.

On Sunday morning, I joined the congregation of The United Methodist Church of Port Washington at the final mass of two incredible pastors who have been such an important part of our community for over six years. Saying goodbye to Pastor David Collins, and Pastor Romi Abelova was hard, and tears were shed. I wish their family all the best in the next chapter of their lives, and I will miss them dearly.

We celebrated our last service with Pastor David Collins and Pastor Romi Abelova. Their steadfast presence for the last 7 years brought our congregation through a pandemic and they will be missed terribly. It is a gift when your Pastors are also amongst those you call friend and they fit that bill for our congregation. We pray for their safe travels as they move across country to Washington state. Our prayers remain with the family as they settle into a new home and new roles.
