In 2019, we started a simple tradition: before the school year began, we went out to pray over the students, teachers, faculty, and staff of Martin County.
That first year, there were fewer than 20 of us.
This year marked our 8th year doing it… and just look at this picture.
What started as a small circle of people faithfully showing up to pray has grown into something so much bigger. Year after year, more people have joined us. More families. More students. More people who believe that one of the most important things we can do before our kids walk through those school doors is cover them in prayer.
We prayed for protection. For wisdom. For courage. For teachers who will love their students well. For students who feel alone. For administrators carrying heavy responsibilities. For friendships, decisions, safety, and opportunities to shine the light of Jesus.
Seven years ago, we couldn't have imagined looking out and seeing a crowd like this.
But God knew. 💙
What a beautiful reminder that sometimes something BIG begins with fewer than 20 people simply willing to show up and pray. To all those who came out and joined us, thank you for your prayerful obedience and your hearts for the young people in our community.
Martin County students, teachers, faculty, and staff — you are prayed for. You are loved. And we are believing God for an incredible school year ahead. 🙏🏼
