Today, Martin County is grieving the loss of Christopher Brooks, an 18-year-old senior at South Fork High School, who was supposed to walk across the graduation stage tonight.

We grieve with his family. We grieve with his friends, classmates, and teachers. We grieve with every student carrying heartbreak today.

Ascent Church, this is a moment to be the Church—to pray, to show up, to listen, to hug your kids a little tighter, and to remind the hurting that they are not alone.

🎓 To Our High School Seniors… We Are So Proud of You. 🎓

This weekend at Ascent Church, we get the honor of celebrating an incredible group of students as they graduate high school. Before we celebrate them on Graduation Sunday, we wanted to take a moment to say just how proud we are of each one of them.

High school graduation is such a huge milestone — a season of endings, beginnings, growth, challenges, victories, and so many moments in between. We have had the privilege of watching these students grow not only in age, but in character, faith, and who God has created them to be.

As they step into this next chapter, our prayer is that they would never forget who they are and whose they are. That they would walk boldly in the plans God has for them, trust Him in the unknown, and keep Him at the center no matter where life takes them.

We know the road ahead will hold exciting opportunities, hard moments, and big decisions — but we also know this: God goes before them. He is faithful, and His plans are good.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." — Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)
