FINAL EDITION | The Galilean Gazette | Mark, Chapter 16
⬅️ PREVIOUSLY IN THE GAZETTE: Jesus was crucified, died, and was buried before sundown. The women who followed Him watched from a distance. A stone was rolled across the tomb. Saturday passed in silence.
➡️ THIS WEEK: Three women go to the tomb at sunrise on the first day of the week, carrying burial spices. They find the stone already rolled away. Inside, a young man in white delivers eight words that change everything: 'He has risen. He is not here.' They flee in trembling astonishment. Mark ends his gospel not with a neat conclusion, but with an open door and a summons to follow.

Tomb Found Empty Sunday Morning; Angel Announces:
"He Is Risen, He Is Not Here"
The most world-altering news ever reported, and the women fled in trembling silence

Three women, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, go to the tomb at sunrise on the first day of the week, carrying spices to anoint the body. They wonder aloud who will roll away the stone. They arrive
to find it already moved.
Inside the tomb sits a young man in white. His message is stark and stunning: "You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. Go, tell His disciples, and Peter
that He goes before you to Galilee." The women flee, trembling, saying nothing to anyone for they were afraid. The oldest manuscripts end here,
in astonished silence. Resurrection is not a tidy conclusion. It is an open door,
and a summons to follow.
"He is not here. He has risen."The eight words that changed everything.

✦ The tomb is empty. The story is not over. It is only beginning.

📰 EDITION 15 | The Galilean Gazette

⬅️ PREVIOUSLY IN THE GAZETTE: Jesus was arrested in the garden, tried before the high priest, and denied three times by Peter. Before dawn, He has been condemned. Now He is handed to Pilate.

➡️ THIS WEEK: This is the hour the entire gospel has been moving toward. Pilate finds no guilt in Jesus, but hands Him over anyway. Soldiers mock Him with a crown of thorns. Simon of Cyrene carries His cross. At nine in the morning, He is crucified. At noon, darkness covers the land for three hours. At three in the afternoon, Jesus cries out, and breathes His last. The temple curtain tears in two. And a Roman soldier, of all people, says: 'Truly this man was the Son of God.'

At dawn, Jesus is handed to Pilate, who finds no guilt in Him but, pressed by the crowd, releases Barabbas and sentences Jesus to be crucified. Soldiers mock Him with a crown of thorns and a purple robe. Simon of Cyrene is compelled to carry His cross.

At Golgotha , "the Place of the Skull", He is crucified at nine in the morning, flanked by two criminals. Passersby hurl insults. Even those crucified with Him mock Him. At noon, darkness covers the land for three hours. At three in the afternoon Jesus cries out: "My God, my God, why hav you forsaken me?" Then breathes His last. The temple curtain tears in two.

A Roman centurion, standing opposite Him, says: "Truly this man was the Son of God." The women who followed Jesus watch from a distance.

✦ The worst Friday in history. And the most important.
