We look forward to celebrating the funeral liturgies for Bishop John H. Ricard, SSJ. If you are clergy or pastoral center staff and have not RSVP’d for the Mass, please do so at this link: https://form.jotform.com/261453497935974. The general public does not need to register.

On Thursday, June 4, Vespers will take place at 5 pm at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1212 E. Moreno Street, Pensacola, FL (this is open to the public and requires no registration or RSVPs).
On Friday, June 5, Visitation will begin at 10 am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Reception to follow in Ave Maria Hall.

Here are a few instructions for all those who will be attending:

For those who will be vesting, have a liturgical role, or will be in procession, please arrive, vested, and ready to go no later than 10:30 am. Vesting rooms will be located in the Parish Center. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to direct you. Please remain in vesting rooms until directed to line up for the procession.

For bishops and priests, please bring an alb as we will use diocesan vestments. Deacons, please wear an alb and white stole.

There is assigned seating for all groups who RSVP’d. Ushers will have seating charts and will direct you to your seats. Please let me know if your numbers have changed.

For those who have challenges with mobility, please come straight to the Cathedral. For any priest or deacon who is unable to walk in procession, please let one of the volunteers know.

If you are able to walk a block or two, overflow parking will be located at the Mcilwain Presbyterian Church at 1220 E Blount Street, Pensacola. Please consider carpooling and parking your vehicle there to ease the congestion at the Cathedral. Volunteers will be on hand at the Cathedral parking lots.

The livestream will be broadcast on the diocesan website at: https://ptdiocese.org/funeral.
