Dear Friends in Christ,

Today the Church celebrates the great mystery of the Most Holy Trinity: one God in three Divine Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This mystery is at the very heart of our Christian faith. Every time we make the Sign of the Cross, every time we gather for Mass, every time we are blessed, baptized, or sent forth, we do so in the name of the Trinity.
The Trinity teaches us that God is not distant or isolated. God is communion. God is love. The Father creates and sustains us, the Son redeems us and walks with us, and the Holy Spirit sanctifies us and strengthens us. Though we speak of the Father, Son, and Spirit in different ways, we are always speaking of the one true God who draws us into His life and love.
This feast reminds us that our faith is both simple and profound. A child can make the Sign of the Cross and profess belief in the Trinity, while the greatest theologians can spend a lifetime reflecting on this mystery and never exhaust its meaning. The Trinity is not a puzzle to be solved, but a mystery to be entered into with reverence, trust, and love.
As Catholics, we are blessed with a rich and flexible way of prayer. We can pray to God the Father, to Jesus the Son, or to the Holy Spirit. We can also pray to the Holy Trinity as one God. This gives beauty and depth to our religious outlook. Some Christians find it difficult to pray without specifically mentioning the name of Jesus — and certainly, we should call upon the holy name of Jesus with faith and love. Yet our Catholic prayer always remains rooted in the fullness of the Trinity. We begin and end in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
On this Holy Trinity Sunday, may we renew our faith in the God who created us, redeemed us, and sanctifies us. May every Sign of the Cross become a deeper prayer, and may our lives reflect the love, unity, and communion of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Fr. Matt

Dear Friends in Christ,

On the great feast of Pentecost, the Church remembers the moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles, filling them with courage, wisdom, and a new fire of faith. They had once been afraid, uncertain, and hidden behind locked doors. Yet when the Spirit came upon them, they were transformed. They went out into the streets, proclaimed the mighty works of God, and began the mission of the Church with boldness and joy.
Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit is not merely a memory from the past, but the living presence of God still at work among us today. The same Spirit who strengthened the first disciples continues to guide the Church, inspire the faithful, and breathe new life into hearts that may have grown weary. The Spirit gives us the courage to speak the truth, the grace to forgive, the strength to serve, and the love needed to build up the Body of Christ.
Each of us has received the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Yet we know that, at times, we may not always fully respond to those gifts. We may become distracted, discouraged, or distant from the life of faith. Still, the Spirit never stops calling. The Spirit invites us again and again into the mysteries of our faith, asking us to look honestly at our lives, to re-engage with the Lord, and to continue the mission entrusted to us.
Pentecost is therefore both a celebration and a challenge. Just as the first Christians were called to be bold in proclaiming Christ, so too are we called to be bold today. We are called to grow God’s Church, to heal His people, to bring hope to the discouraged, and to make Christ known by the witness of our lives. May the Holy Spirit renew us, strengthen us, and send us forth with the same fire that transformed the first disciples, so that we may continue the mission of the Lord with faith, courage, and love.

Sincerely Yours In Christ,

Fr. Matt
