Why We Celebrate
On April 19, many United Methodists celebrate Native American Ministries Sunday. This is a time to honor the sacredness, culture, and influence of Native American communities—and to recognize their vital role in the life of The United Methodist Church. Your support helps empower Indigenous leaders and strengthen ministries that serve Native communities. Get involved. Learn more:

GOOD FRIDAY
Today, we do not rush past the cross. We do not explain it away. We do not soften it.

We stay.

Because this is where love refuses to turn away - from suffering, from injustice, from the weight of the world. Jesus does not meet violence with violence. He does not abandon us in our worst moments.

He remains.

Lenten Practice for Today:
When you encounter pain (your's or someone else's), don't look away. Pause. Sit with it. Hold it in prayer.

Love is still present there.

Two years ago, we opened the doors to our new facility—and since opening, we’ve seen a steady increase in neighbors turning to us for support.

Since moving into our new facility, we’ve seen a significant increase in need—and in our ability to respond.

In our first year, we distributed an average of 40,737 pounds of groceries each month. In our second year, that number grew to 54,137 pounds monthly—a powerful reflection of both growing need and expanded capacity.

This growth also reflects the increased volume of food moving through our facility and the efficiency of a space designed to handle it—allowing us to serve more families, more effectively, every day.

This milestone belongs to all of you—our supporters, volunteers, and partners who make this work possible every single day.

Jesus is questioned constantly throughout the Gospels, but especially on this day - and he never shuts it down. He stays in the midst of doubt and questioning.

Faith isn't a fragile thing. It doesn't avoid hard conversations.

Lenten Practice for Today:
Instead of avoiding a hard conversation, lean in. Ask one honest question. Listen without preparing your response.

Growth doesn't happen in silence, it happens in tension.
