The world constantly tells us who we should be.

Culture changes.
Opinions change.
Trends change.

Jesus doesn’t.

His disciples saw something different in Him—something so compelling that they wanted to learn how He lived, prayed, and related to God.

Commissioner Samuel Logan Brengle summarized holiness with a simple phrase:

“Holiness is Christ-likeness.”

At its core, the Christian life is about becoming more like Jesus.

Not more religious.
Not more impressive.

More like Him.

After everything Peter had been through, Jesus met him beside the sea and asked a simple but profound question:

“Do you love me more than these?”

The question wasn’t really about fishing.

It was about priority.

Would Peter place Jesus above comfort?
Above familiarity?
Above his old way of life?

Agape love is more than affection.

It’s choosing.
It’s preferring.
It’s sacrificing.

It’s the same love God demonstrated when He gave His Son for us.

And it’s the same question Jesus still asks each of us today.

Peter failed Jesus.

There was no denying it.

Yet after the resurrection, Jesus didn’t avoid the conversation.

He didn’t shame Peter.
He didn’t reject Peter.

Instead, He lovingly asked:

“Where are you now?”
“Do you love me?”

Sometimes God’s grace doesn’t look like overlooking our failures.

Sometimes it looks like meeting us in them and restoring what was broken.

That’s exactly what Jesus did for Peter—and what He still does for us.

Following Jesus isn’t just about the powerful moments.

It’s not just about church services, answered prayers, miracles, or emotional experiences.

It’s about the everyday decisions.

Opening your Bible.
Talking to God.

Choosing obedience.

Surrounding yourself with people who love Jesus.

Faithfulness isn’t built in a moment.

It’s built over a lifetime of small choices.

And from personal experience, it’s much easier to stay close to the Shepherd than it is to wander away and find your way back.

06/07/2026

After Peter denied Jesus, he had to wonder if he had ruined everything.

Then Jesus met him face-to-face and asked:

“Do you love me?”

Three times.

It’s easy to read those questions as a rebuke.
But what if they were an act of healing?

A wounded heart being restored.
A broken disciple being reminded of who he really was.
A Savior refusing to let failure have the final word.

Maybe Jesus is asking us the same question today—not to condemn us, but to draw us closer.

06/06/2026

Jesus told Peter:

“Feed my sheep.”

While there are many layers to that conversation, the heart of it is clear:

Love My people.

And who are God’s people?

Everyone.
Every single person.

The challenge of following Jesus isn’t figuring out who deserves our love—it’s learning to love the people God already does.
