Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society of Port Jervis, New York, Inc Meetings will be held on the 1st Wednesday of each month 6:00 PM at the Mount Carmel Hall 21st street Port Jervis NY

The our Lady of Mount Carmel Society of Port Jervis, N.Y. was organized in 1923, and was incorporated in 1946. It is a non-profit organization that has been a vital part of the Tri-State community for many years giving monetarily to various worthwhile institutions, and causes such as: Scholarships to both local high schools, Port Jervis and Delaware Valley Schools, member of the Century club at

the local hospital, Depot Preservation Fund, Church Street Park, Riverside Park, Winter clothes for kids,
Every year, for over fifty years we hosted the Mount Carmel Society Celebration at which is now know as, Riverside Park. It was a huge family entertainment event during the week of July 16th, in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. It featured amusement rides, food, games of chance, live music, and gigantic fireworks display each night. along with our nostalgic famous lights, lighting the way down King Street to Riverside Park. The wonderful Sausage and Pepper stand that was operated by our members. We are now in the process of re-introducing this event to the Tri-State area through the Port Jervis Tri-State Chamber of Commerce. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society Officers and Trustees

Louise P. Latini a life time resident of Port Jervis passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026. She was 96.

The daughter of the late Victoria and Anthony Petitti she was born on January 18, 1929 in Port Jervis.

Louise was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also spent many years working as a Teller Supervisor at the Bank of New York in Port Jervis. A lifelong member of St. Mary’s RC Church, Louise was also a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Port Jervis Mount Carmel Society.

In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased in life by her sister Virginia Petitti, her loving husband Anthony "Tony" Latini SR, son Louis Latini, and her brother Julio Petitti along with his wife Anna.

Devoted mother of Anthony “Tony” Latini Jr., his wife Mary Lou, James Latini, Marianne Miles with her husband David, and her daughter-in-law Maria Macchiarolo Latini. Beloved grandmother of Anthony Latini III, his wife Greta, Jennifer Latini, Victoria Latini, Christopher Latini, Jessica Miles, and Michelle Miles.

Great grandmother of Zachary, Arielle, Natalie, and Jacob. Louise was a cherished aunt and great aunt who will be missed.

Private cremation arrangements entrusted to the Knigh-Auchmoody Funeral Home of Port Jervis, NY. A final committal will take place in the family plot of St. Mary’s Cemetery in the spring. Louise P. Latini a life time resident of Port Jervis passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026. She was 96.
