An overnight warming shelter for St. Clair County's homeless men. Doors open at 5:30 pm daily for intake.

Those in need of shelter are encouraged to call 810-824-3244 to determine eligibility. Blue Water Area Rescue Mission exists to lead people to transformed lives in Christ thereby alleviating homelessness in the Blue Water Area, one life at a time. We believe that a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ is the basis for bringing people to dependence upon God and interdependence within society.

It Takes a Village. 💙

Different generations. Different backgrounds. Different walks of life. Yet in this picture, one thing stands out above all else: what brings us together.

Taken on a Sunday after church, this photo captures something special about Blue Water Area Rescue Mission.

Among those pictured are current and former shelter guests, staff, volunteers, church members, and family members. Each with their own story, experiences, and perspectives, yet all part of something bigger.

At BWARM, we believe there's something beautiful about people coming together, not because we're all the same, but because we recognize the value in one another.

Our work goes beyond providing a meal or a place to sleep. It's about nourishing the body, encouraging the heart, and feeding the spirit. It's about showing up for our neighbors, building relationships, sharing faith, and reminding one another that everyone has something valuable to contribute.

Some come through our doors seeking help. Others come offering a helping hand. And sometimes, those roles change along the way.

Different stories. Different generations. One community. One mission.

This is what REAL HELP. REAL HOPE. looks like.

Every day at Blue Water Area Rescue Mission, we have the privilege of walking alongside men who are working toward a better tomorrow.

And we're grateful for community partners who believe in that work!

What a blessing to have organizations in our community that recognize the importance of providing more than just a place to sleep. At BWARM, it's about dignity, stability, encouragement, and helping our neighbors take meaningful steps forward.

Because advancing lives isn't always about one giant leap. Sometimes it's about making the next step possible.

“NEVER HAD A BAD DAY!” ☀️💪🏾

Ask Dale how he's doing, and there's a good chance you'll hear those very words: “Never had a bad day!”

And if you know Dale, you know he means it!

Now, that doesn't mean life has always been easy. Dale has faced his share of challenges, setbacks, and difficult circumstances. But through it all, he carries a joy that's hard to miss and even harder not to smile about!

His joy is contagious. His attitude is inspiring. And his story reminds us of something important:

A person's circumstances don't define their character, their worth, or the joy they bring into the lives of others.

One of the blessings we've witnessed in Dale's journey is that he's been able to reconnect with family, where he can receive additional care and support. While challenges remain, we're grateful for this next chapter in his life!

And that Buc-ee's hat? 🤠 Well, there's still a little Texas in this Michigan man's heart!

Dale, thank you for the laughs, the smiles, and the reminder that even on the hardest days, there's still room for joy.

A Firm Foundation. A Generous Community 💙

The love and generosity of this community just keep pouring in! 🙌🏾

We continue to be amazed by the many ways God is providing through the hearts and generosity of people right here in our community!

We are incredibly grateful to share that the Community Foundation of St. Clair County awarded Blue Water Area Rescue Mission a $20,000 grant in support of the Mission!

What makes this gift so meaningful is the partnership behind it. We share a deep love for this community and a desire to see our neighbors cared for, supported, and given opportunities to move forward.

A special thank you to Randy and the entire Community Foundation team for believing in the work happening every day with the men we serve. Your generosity is a tremendous blessing!

There is still plenty of work ahead, but moments like this remind us that we don't do it alone. God continues to open doors, bring people together, and provide in ways that remind us just how blessed we are to serve this community.

GRATEFUL TO GOD, THANKFUL FOR Y'ALL! 🙌🏾

We set a goal of $75,000 for Plates for a Purpose, and through God's faithfulness and the generosity of this incredible community, we've raised $80,000! 🎉

What an incredible night! The encouragement and kind words we've received since the event have been overwhelming. From the amazing food and fellowship to the generosity of everyone who showed up, gave, served, and supported, we are still taking it all in!

More than anything, we thank God for showing up through His people. His hand and His heart were on display throughout the entire evening, and we couldn't be more grateful!

A Community That Cares! ❤️

We're still celebrating what God did through our community at Plates for a Purpose! We're working on a final update, including the winners of our culinary competition and the results of our fundraising efforts. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, we continue to be incredibly grateful for a community that genuinely cares for our neighbors in need.

A special THANK YOU to Crystal Mosher and Women's Life Chapter 800, who have taken the initiative to organize a Euchre Tournament benefiting the Blue Water Area Rescue Mission!

WOW! What a night. THANK YOU doesn’t even begin to express our gratitude for what God did through our community last night. We are still taking it all in.

To everyone who showed up, gave, served, shared, encouraged and chose to say yes to helping homeless men in our community — thank you.

There is so much more to share. For now, we’re just incredibly grateful. We will share an update with soon with the winners of the culinary competition and progress toward our goal of raising $75,000.

Tomorrow night is about making sure the next man who needs help has somewhere to go.

At the Blue Water Area Rescue Mission, St. Clair County’s only men’s homeless shelter, that can mean the difference between sleeping outside and finding safety, stability and a path forward.

Tomorrow, more than 20 local food and beverage vendors will come together to support that work, serving everything from brisket and bourbon steak to chicken satay, mac and cheese, cold brew, c***r, ice cream and cinnamon rolls.

If you’ve been thinking about coming, this is your last chance. Come for the food, learn more about our mission, hear the stories of real help and real hope that are changing lives in our community. Help make sure we are here for the next man who needs them.
