Blue Water Area Rescue Mission

An overnight warming shelter for St. Clair County's homeless men. Doors open at 5:30 pm daily for intake.

Those in need of shelter are encouraged to call 810-824-3244 to determine eligibility. Blue Water Area Rescue Mission exists to lead people to transformed lives in Christ thereby alleviating homelessness in the Blue Water Area, one life at a time. We believe that a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ is the basis for bringing people to dependence upon God and interdependence within society.

Huge shoutout to the Kingdom Men’s group from Colonial Woods! 🤜🏾🤛🏾 They showed incredible love by serving dinner to our guests. Real help and real hope can be as simple as providing a meal, and we are so grateful for their support! 🍽️❤️

Our summer has been bursting at the seams here at the only men's shelter in St. Clair County. To keep up, we are looking for volunteers who can commit to owning just one day a month—like the first Monday or the 4th Tuesday—to consistently come out and serve.

Last Wednesday was such an amazing day at Milkhouse. 🍦💙

We had a blast eating ice cream, meeting great people, and seeing folks come out to support the mission. Huge thanks to the Milkhouse Cafe team for having us!

A huge thank-you to the ladies from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Casco! 🙌🏾💙🧡

They organized a HUGE drop-off of men’s clothing and food items from our needs list, and we are so grateful for their generosity and care.

If you can see that beautiful glimmer of light in the photo, it feels like a gentle reminder of God’s promise and faithfulness. 🌈 “I have set My rainbow in the cloud” (Genesis 9:13).

Ruth is our mission administrator, and she keeps so much moving behind the scenes with grace, kindness, and a whole lot of heart. We’re so thankful for all she does — and one of Ruth’s birthday wishes is for more people to come see what we’re doing and jump in to serve. 🙌🏾
