The RMTs got together this week to wish Fair Winds and Following Seas to Chaplain James Hummel, who will be off to his next duty assignment at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. He served the last two years at NMCB-5.

Did you visit the NBVC Chapel pit stop at the Fleet & Family Support Center’s family movie night last week? 🏁⛽️

Kids raced cars, got creative at our coloring station, got cool racing tattoos, and refueled with some “91 octane fuel” (apple juice).

We loved getting to connect with families and share a reminder that taking care of ourselves spiritually is just as important as keeping a car fueled up and running strong.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table and helped make it such a fun night for our military families and kiddos!

Today, the NBVC Religious Ministry Team hosted a powerful Faith & Friends event, bringing together leaders from multiple faith traditions for an interfaith dialogue focused on one shared mission: supporting our military families.

The morning roundtable created space for open, respectful conversation on how faith communities can collaborate, uplift one another, and better serve those who serve. In the afternoon, the conversation turned into connection during our community fair, where members from across Naval Base Ventura County had the opportunity to meet faith leaders, ask questions, and gather resources.

We also took pause for moments of rest and reflection through a calming sound bath—because caring for the soul is just as important as caring for the mission.

Thank you to every leader, volunteer, and participant who helped make this event so smooth, meaningful, and impactful. This is what unity looks like.
